And this is news because???.....Blatant rubbish, he can build this kind of house if he chooses to....his salary can cover that. And for those saying utter rubbish, do you actually expect him to build a 2 bedroom flat next to you? where in this world does that happen. @ The Poster, This should not be here as news.

6  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: QUESTION! Why Do Nigerians Like TO "Show Off" By Taking Photos Everywhere on: 14-03-2012 10:36 PM
Well for one, Most Nigerians build their houses from scratch or buy it off at once and for them this is a great achievement and they might as well celebrate it how they want. In most first world European and North american countries, most of their population use mortgages to possess homes, cars or whatever. for example, someone who works at Mcdonalds or as a bank cashier in the US can be driving the 2012 camry, but this is because he/she would have just paid a little sum of about 10-15%the cost to take the car out of the car lot and would keep paying out of their salary for another 3- 5 years depending on how much percent they pay. As for houses, it even takes way longer, ranges from 15-30 years.....It is only the very very rich in all these countries that are able to buy their homes or cars immediately. But Nigerians are naturally proud and confident people, no matter  their situation we tend tend to brag whenever we achieve something.
7  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Is Unilag A School Or An Hotel?? on: 13-03-2012 07:40 PM
@Poster are you okay?, as in are you well? Did you by any chance walk round the school?.... through ever look and corner? and you saw all the girls half naked or naked? or boys picking up girls and dropping them or whatever? .... There are always promiscuous students in every school even at HAVARD!!.... and just to show you how stupid and jobless you are, i skyped my friends who go to UniLag and they were both studying....So just because you went and saw people behaving out of the norm doesn't make the the school a hotel or whatever.

Anyone that says he did something wrong is phyuking stupid and you have probably not left Nigeria before because if you have you would think differently. In many countries (FIRST WORLD), women are school bus drivers, public bus drivers and whatever. The man is creating jobs for women and your calling him a woman wrapper, you rather he gives each unemployed woman a million naira yea?, Unsatisfied and ungrateful idiots

Some people can be extremely ignorant and stupid, like how the hell do you know if she stole any bloody money. Proud of her as a Nigerian citizen, I'm proud that she's a minister and i'm also proud that she has been nominated. you don't f*#king get nominated for that kind of position without being outstanding in what your doing you dumb idiots. Some people on here can like to go and make their money and raise themselves from their dead poverty streaking lives rather than be here condemning those who have established a name for themselves in history.

@Poster ha!, i laugh at you!, the so called poverty stricken country produced the richest black man in the world, the so called poverty stricken country is in the 1st /5th best economy in Africa, this so called poverty stricken country [produces the best entertainment artiste/performers/actors in Africa I can go on and on, so what the Bloody Feathers are you saying? ...Not just because you were probably unfortunate and lived a sad life in Nigeria, does not make the country useless. You might as well stay in another mans country and be forming shit!, but you would always be a 2nd class citizen wherever you are . Dude there are people making their millions and billions diligently in Nigeria, get a reality check!, so you might as well rot where ever you are. It annoys me to see Nigerians insult their country, because no matter how bad the economy of the US OR UK, citizens always love their country...sad some Nigerians like you are not in the same category....Well, i will always Rep 4 9ja... ALWAYS!
14  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Nigerian Children Are The Most Mal-Nourished In The World on: 22-02-2012 05:04 AM
NOT POSSIBLE!!, where is Somalia, and all these countries that Nigeria virtually supports. how did the person come up with theses facts?, did he/she do any survey?... total rubbish....you can hardly see a Nigerian child malnourished, even the poor ones tend to be fatter than those from much better homes (based on observation). I don't believe this report one bit!

Correction, for 2011 in the US it is $22,350. How can you expect me to believe Nigeria has 6.1% middle class when all you did was walk down your street. When you travel all over Nigeria, that means beyond your street, and see how all Nigerians live, you will be able to give a better assessment.

Thanks for your update. But i am correct on my assessment because that is what the 93.9% is implying. I just used walking down my street as an example. This result has no base atall, for there to be a base then Nigeria should have a standard of income in which if you earn below that you are considered poor. Nigerians should not compare Nigeria to the United states or other first world countries because their GDP is way higher than that of Nigeria. $22,350 could be the yearly salary of a middle class person in Nigeria and as well $100,000 can also be the salary of a middle class person in Nigeria. My point is until a standard is set to show vary in these things then this result is completely baseless.
16  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: 93.9% of Nigerians are Poor – National Bureau of Statistics on: 15-02-2012 01:42 AM
I don't get why Nigerians will come here and insult each other, I seriously don't get the beef btw Northerners and Southerners.. to the southerners, not every northerner is a member of boko haram or is interested in killing christians.  This unnecessary beef should end. we should all be proud of Nigeria being able to produce the richest black man in the world, regardless if he is Muslim or christian.  i don't care who is poor or who is rich, my argument is that this news is blatantly wrong. if 93.9% are poor then where is the middle class, and what is the line of poverty...... The middle class nigeria is way greater than 6.1%. if this news is correct that means about 9.3 in every 10 persons in nigeria are living in poverty, which is totally untrue because i walk down my street and aside the gate-men or maids which are relatively blue-collar working class people, every other person is middle class. For this post to be made relevant, there should be a way to measure poverty level in Nigeria, probably by income... in the US if you earn less than $12,000 a year then your living in poverty.. I do not know Nigeria's own income floor so there is no way this can be proved to me.

The issue with Nigeria is that people are still looking to the government to elevate them from the ashes of poverty! I personally have nothing against such an unrealistic idea--evidenced by the government inaction--but it's time to wake up from that dream. Our leaders have 51 years of record to prove that they care nothing for the people. It's about time that we the people kick them aside, and make lives for ourselves. If you wish to be something in Nigeria, you must do so independent of our so-called government! They have not desire to assist the masses; only self-interest driven.

I agree with you to some extent. Most Nigerians do not want to go to school or work, all they want is a means of making quick money without struggling for it. They possibly want the government to give N1m to every nigerian citizen or family before they'd shut up about the government. And yes there are evidently some leaders that careless about the people but if they all don't care then we have any good road or any good public school, water or anything in that country. There are the ones who also fight for the growth of that country too.
18  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: What a waste? Government spend N1.7 billion to buy jeeps for Senators. on: 15-02-2012 01:15 AM
This is just getting sickening, @ Poster, are you aware that the US bought or made Two Customized buses 1 for the President and the  other for the Vice, each cost $1 million, thats $2 million for both,  and delegates of every country are always given official cars and these cars  are never $10,000..... The supposed Land cruiser cannot cost $100,000 each NEVER and i have proof http://www.toyota.com/landcruiser/ . What is wrong with most Nigerians? If a Senator buys this car with his money, they'll make noise and say he stole money ... if the FG buys it, they'll still make noise...... I know people are suffering in Nigeria but that's how it is everywhere in the world, the poor never enjoys...Sociology 101 "the social hierarchy of class is created for social balance", there must always be the poor and they will always be way more than the population of the rich. These are facts in Every country of the World. Most people should look at facts and not pass judgment without thinking. I don't know why this is news even, UTTER RUBBISH!
