101  Forum / Religion / Prayers to STOP the Ebola Virus and Boko Haram on: 7-08-2014 02:32 PM

Matthew 18:19
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Mark 11:22-25
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Happy New Year 9ja pals

May your 2014 and every year after bring all the good things God has instore for you, your family and your lives in Jesus name!

As well, this will be my last posting to this thread, though prayers for Nigeria, Africa, America and other countries have been and will continue daily by Christians everywhere.

After spending the Thanksgiving Holiday in Nigeria, I want to just encourage many not to allow anyone to talk you out of your blessings or God's destiny for your life.  In all areas of life, DO NOT make the evil exchange of throwing away your great abundance by taking alittle by force, tricks and deceit. There are times when standing on what is right is tough, especially when so many are standing on wrong.  Stand on God's word and do not grow weary in doing what is good. God rewards obedience, God gives us double for our trouble and whatever the devil means for bad, God works it to the good for those that love Him.  God is too great o!

If there is anyone who wants a relationship with the Creator of heaven, earth and mankind...Jehovah, please see the end of  previous prayers for Nigeria thread, as this is #4.

God's continued blessings to Nigeria and all of you in Jesus mighty name, amen.
105  Forum / Religion / Re: Christians: Do You Believe in Speaking in Tongues? (Page 5) on: 31-01-2014 04:46 PM
1 Corinthians 14
Authorized (King James) Version

14 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. 6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25 and thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
106  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Sex Before Marriage: 5 Good Reasons Why Every 'Nigerian' Couple Should Do It! on: 31-01-2014 03:55 PM
Please and please...do not believe this lie from the pit of hell.  I almost passed up commenting on the subject matter but these perverse spirits are capturing alot of people's minds.  Be loose in Jesus name.

No Nigerian couples or any couples are to have sex before getting married.  Fornication will breed many other unforeseen problems and start the marriage out on a bad foundation.

1.  Chemistry.  If it happens, as it possibly has with the poster’s example, still all is workable inside their marriage; if the couple just look at themselves and do what is best for them.  Stop looking at others and what they think might be happening with other couples.  Things are not always the way they look or seem.   When two people get married, the husband is suppose to delete all other vain imaginations of other women from his mind and the wife is suppose to delete all other vain imaginations of other men from her mind and NOT having sex before marriage makes it easier to achieve.  It may take some time but a husband striving to please his wife and a wife striving to please her husband, they both can be taken care of without faking anything.
2.  segxwal Identity.  It is written in scriptures that homosegxwality is an abomination.  I use to believe it was mainly a choice conscious or unconsciously but after witnessing many testimonies, there seems to be an evil spirit behind the perverse behavior. How or when the evil seed got planted though, I do not know.  I don't believe it's the not have sex before marriage that is an issue.  We are to seek godly advice, and even more so God's advice about a life partner.  God will definitely tell a person, if they ask him, about the person they hope to marry.
3.  Sex Itself.   Many times it may not be the actual sex but other issues like selfishness, pride, impatience, insensitivity, etc. that may be major hindering factors.  If the couple is thinking about each other then they will reach their own special place together.  Keep your private matters between husband and wife, as it is to be this way.  Husband and wife are to cover each other, not publically shame one another.
4.  Size.  I don’t have much to say other than, if you love your partner and you are committed to your marriage, make it work.
5.  segxwal Issues.  If any segxwal issues should arise, take them to God first and seek medical solutions if necessary.  What if no segxwal issues were present when the couple married but developed years into the marriage?  Having sex before marriage, is still not the best.
The poster says that sex is an important part of marriage, as like other parts and it is true.  It is also true that God rewards purity in marriage.  Fornicating or having sex before marriage starts the marriage off on a negative foundation.  Who is to say having sex before marriage is not a contributor to the rampant transferring of the spirit of lust, ungodly soul ties, strange women/men in marriages and so many other demonic influences.  If one chooses to have sex before marriage, then one is choosing to be disobedient to God’s word.  Disobedience gives satan access to enter into our life, marriage, family, etc.

Don’t be deceived!
107  Forum / Religion / Re: Christians: Do You Believe in Speaking in Tongues? on: 29-11-2013 10:42 AM
Yes, I believe in speaking in tongues.  It is a spiritual gift but unfortunately it is being perverted and abused by many.

There are many accounts in the Bible of those speaking in tongues who belonged to God and there are accounts in the Bible where many have not spoken in tongues and still belonged to God.  It is not speaking in tongues that saves us, it is Jesus Christ who saves us.

The way I understand it is that we are encouraged to ask for the gift of speaking in tongues but it should not be forced. It is a very good thing to have our spirit pray to God when we do not know how, when, what or why yet, but when praying in tongues privately, we are to pray for interpretation.  Regarding the church, anything spoken in tongues is suppose to have a translation.

When I was gave my life to Jesus Christ at a revival, I also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit the same evening and spoke in tongues.
Because of the abuses in the church and concern of something demonic trying to creep in...for long, I have not spoken in tongues nor did I ask to.

There was one time where I am very sure God wanted to give me the gift.  It was at the end of a Bible Study and the pastor was praying for us and I was saying thank you Jesus. Then, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and he began saying to my spirit....say something say something.  BUT, I said I need more time-I need more time. And, God has given me more time.
Tongues is a spiritual gift that is given but we have to receive and give utterance.

There is a caution because there is a great deception as the poster says and satan tries to pervert this spiritual gift and use it to cause confusion.

I have since told God I am ready to accept any and every gift from HIM only because I have learned more about the real gift and its purpose privately and publicly since.
When we are living on the front lines of spiritual warfare, many things are happening in the spiritual realm and some of these things are demonic involving witchcraft and it only takes a simple command through prayer in Jesus' name to break, cancel and destroy the works and influence of the devil.

When our spirit prays to God for us....every single thing is covered in Jesus name.  We sometimes get in our own way and even when God tells us to pray or do, we don't always listen.

Thanking for having mercy on us your children Jehovah God!

I too, sadly, have given satan many witnesses to use against me and my life at one time or another or many times.

If we are with God, we are not at rest when we do the wrong things. God, the faithful friend that He is will never leave us in our good or bad times. In fact, God will be will us, talk to us, guide us and help us come to our senses, so we do not inflict more pains and scars on ourselves.  If we are with God, we will Always get up and come to our senses, ask for forgiveness, make amends, learn the lessons, heal and move forward a stronger and wiser person. One of many promises God has made to us is that, those who love him...whatever the devil has used against us to harm us, God WILL work it to our good.  And it is so very true!

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for all your grace and mercy. Thank you for forgiving us, loving us as you do and saving us in Jesus name. We give you the highest praises and glorify you Jehovah-Great I Am.

Bless the Lord!

The Witness

Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

I heard part of a message a pastor was preaching, overall, about Job.  He mentioned how the Holy Spirit is a witness to those who have been born again and how the devil, satan and father of lies is the accuser.  The Holy Spirit is God’s witness and I began to think about the spiritual realm.  In Job’s case, the devil said that God has a hedge around him but how did the devil know this?  Since the devil goes about seeking whom he may devour, he must have already tried to devour Job.  Does something happen in the spiritual realm that allows the devil see when we have left ourselves open to demonic attacks?  What if every time we committed a sin, a witness in the spiritual realm was created?  Tell a lie and a witness in the spiritual realm pops up in the spiritual realm to witness the lie told.  Falsely accuse your neighbor and there goes another witness in the spiritual realm.  Steal, kill, commit adultery, cover your neighbor’s wife/husband or goods…just too many witnesses popping up in the spiritual realm.  All the bad things we do, oh my goodness, if we had the spiritual eyes to see all the witnesses tied to one another in the spiritual realms, we would probably run for our dear lives into our homes and never come out.  Something else!  But, just a thought.

I think it is so much better not to have any such witnesses such as lies, theft, murder, dishonoring father/mother, idolatry, etc. for the devil to use against us.  Is it possible?  It most definitely is possible through Jesus Christ.

Thank you Jehovah God for all you have done for us, we are grateful.
111  Forum / Religion / Re: C-O-N-F-I-R-M-E-D! Marriage Should Not be For Every One. on: 13-11-2013 03:57 PM
Well stated...thank you very much poster.  So true, we are all accountable for our actions and for the words we say.  If both are Christians then both are to stand firm on God's word.  I would like to add that the youth should not be ignored in their home either.  They are the future generation and need time and attention from their parents.  Nannies, housekeepers, house-help are only help in the house and putting most of the parental responsibilities on the head of these house helpers does not change the account in God's eyes.   Please, make time for your husband, wife, children, family and friends.

As well, since we all have different ministries and special destines in this life, I do not believe that it is meant for everyone to be married.  Paul of the Bible was not married and their are those today who are also called out to remain single. It will be their desire to do so and God will definitely let them know they are on the right path...prayerfully they will listen to Him.
112  Forum / Religion / Re: 4. Prayers for North, South, East, West and All Borders of Nigeria on: 13-11-2013 11:59 AM
Greetings 9japals,

Long time....I pray this post finds all in good spirits and in good health, in Jesus name.

I do not think I posted on this movie, but it was sooooo touching and got me thinking about how we are suppose to be helping one another.  What do you think?

Its a Nigerian movie titled, 21 Days with Christ.  It's part one, two and three, starring Olu Jacobs and Saint Obi.

The gist of the movie is... the king of a village dies and before the new king can be crowned in this village, certain rituals must take place.  One ritual involves sacrificing a little girl (a real little about eleven yrs..I think).  The little girl that was taken was a young Christian.  She was afraid at first but got control of herself and the Holy Spirit began to bring back to her remembrance the word of God.  The little girl stood on God's word and her strength grew, even though the situation she was that she was trapped in a room and didn't know how far away from her own village, father or mother she was, being held against her will and being fed food with the purpose of weakening her spirit and resistance enough so that she would not fight being killed and sacrificed to a false god.  What was amazing is that since the little girl went missing, the head of their house---the husband and father, stood spiritually strong for his little girl and family.  The father stood strong and kept his wife right beside him and contacted their Pastor, who took action immediately.

The immediate action they took.....PRAYER.

The parents or church did not start complaining, speculating, backbitting, doubting, SLEEPING or making any excuse why they could not do as Christians are suppose to do for one another and lift each other up in prayer.  Prayer can reach any person anywhere on the face of this earth, at anytime.  While this little girl was standing on her faith and trust in the one true God; the little girl's father, mother and church family was also praying and standing on their faith and trust in the one true God.  The little girl's prayer was for her to go back safely to her father and mother; and the father, mother and church family's prayer was for the little girl be returned safely back to them.  Those serving demons and satan tried to take the little girl's life but because of her, her parents and her church family, there was no way.  The devil's plan to take that little girl's life was destroyed.  In fact, this little girl's faith affected the man who was to be crowned king, who eventually came to freedom through Jesus Christ, who freed his village from the bondage and slavery of serving demons and satan.  Praises to Jehovah.

This was a move BUT God's power works for his people and he does not ever ever let us down in real life.

Psalm 9:  I will praise thee, O Lord with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvellous works. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee; I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. 3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

Heavenly Father,

We thank you for loving us as we are.  We just thank you for being who you and for doing all that you have done for us to show us your true love for us.  Thank you Jehovah God.  We thank you for all the blessings you have given to us in every area of our life.  Help us to do what you have called us to do in this place for one another....in Jesus name, amen.

....The poster!.....WARNING OTHER GIRLS TO ABSTAIN FROM SEX...?, sex is a part of life, one cannot live without it,. In life, one need to enjoy his or herself but in whatever you are doing, learn how to ''be careful in things you do!. Are you warning other girls to stay away from men?, O'  that may-be you re a LESBIAN indirectly campagning against men!. You contacted AIDS?, that was due to your carelessness, you was  carried away by lust and that supposed not to be your season of warning other girls to abstain from men!!!.

I believe the poster is warning against sex outside of an exclusive relationship and no sex period if you are not in an exclusive relationship... not any other thing.
God says sex is ONLY for those who are married.

If this story is true it is a sad and terrible thing that this mother has joined the ranks of older women who are corrupting young men.

Are there so many women empty and desperate that they DO NOT stop themselves from preying on guys too much younger than them--even worse their own son?  So a mother chooses not to control herself, her urges and lust and instead chooses to heap it all on her son?  It is a very bad thing.  All these selfish and indecent acts, why won't people do what is right for one another no how they feel.  Our feeling are not suppose to be controlling our life because they can be manipulated and satan does used them and our senses against us.  We are suppose to be controlling are feeling.  Yes, we can and we should control our feelings.  Instead of helping the younger generation many women are busy sewing incest, perversion and abomination.  Jehovah protect our children and children's children, and children's children's children and so on and so on from such women in Jesus name.

Don't Look Back

I find it interesting how we can look at the past through rose-colored glasses. Remember the children of Israel? They had been delivered from the tyranny and bondage of Egypt, where for years they had languished in slavery. In their deep distress they cried out to God for deliverance, and the Lord answered their prayers through a man named Moses.

As they made their way through the wilderness, God supernaturally fed them with an incredible bread-like substance called manna. Manna literally means, "What is it?" They had it daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But after a while, they got tired of it. They said, we are sick of manna. We remember the good old days back in Egypt, where we ate garlic, leeks, and onions (see Numbers 11:5).

They spoke of the good old days in Egypt, but as slaves they basically ate table scraps. They barely scraped out a miserable existence. Yet in their imaginations, they magnified these scraps into some sumptuous feast they had each and every day. Don't build up the past in your mind. Remember it for what it was. Don't allow the enemy to pull you down by fantasizing about it. Protect your mind, and don't look back. Remember what Jesus said in Luke 9:62, "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God" (NLT). These words contain an implied promise that ought to challenge us to the core. The Lord is telling us: If you do not move forward for My glory, then you will not be fit for My Kingdom. But if you move forward, then you will have an honored place at My table . . . forever.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Father God,

Thank you for today and all your many blessings.  Thank you Jesus for the victory in every area of our life.  Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving us so much and showing us you love us by taking such good care of us in every way.  You have given us the keys to the kingdom of heaven.  Mighty God we give thanks to you and praise you.  No matter how busy our days gets, lets us stay focused on you and what you would have us to do and say.  Hail King Jesus!!!

The spirit of lust have captured many people and he is included.  The woman commanded him to look with her body to the point he could not concentrate again and he obeyed the command.  The lady is with her man, please....don't blame women for mens lack of self-control.  True she doesn't need to have it all out like that. There is nothing wrong with noticing an attractive person but this one is way past that.

God Knows . . . in Detail

"Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish."  —Isaiah 46:10

I am always amazed at my wife Cathe's ability to remember details. When I tell her about something that happened, she always asks questions. She will interrupt me mid-story because she wants details that seem insignificant to me at the time.

"Who cares?" I will tell her. "Let me finish the story."

But then, when I am retelling the story some time later, she notices that I left out a part.

"How do you know?" I will say. "You weren't there."

"No," she says, "but I remember."

And she is right. She remembers it better than I remember it because I forget details.

Some of us may forget details, but God does not. Not only does God remember every detail of the past, but He also knows the future with complete accuracy.

Revelation 13 describes a time when the Antichrist will introduce a cashless society. He will require people to take a mark by which no one can buy or sell without it, and the end game of this is to cause people to engage in devil worship.

The technology is effectively already here. Forty years ago this would have seemed impossible, if not implausible. But now with all of the developments in technology, we can see how such a thing actually could unfold before our eyes in real time.

God said in Isaiah, "Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish." (46:9–10).

When God tells us what is about to happen, He is not going out on a limb. He knows the future as well as we know the past
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Father God,

We thank you for being there for us and loving us the way you do despite some of the negative consequences we put in our lives from the past and present.  You warn us by sending perfectly timed messages in many way and by sending your people to caution us.  But, many time we do not listen or heed the warnings.  Help us to see and learn the lessons from the past and present that prepares us for the very best future you have awaiting us in Jesus name.  Let us remember and live out your goodness, your love, your mercy, your grace, your compassion, your patience and every good thing, by sharing with those you have cross our path.  Thank you for your faithfulness in Jesus mighty name, amen.  .

God's Plan for the Family
"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you."   —Exodus 20:12

It has been said that a family can survive without a nation, but a nation cannot survive without the family. God established the family by bringing a man and a woman together in marriage. Then came children and grandchildren. That is His order.

The Bible tells us, however, that in the last days there will be an attack on the family. One of the signs of the end times will be a lack of respect for one's parents. We read in 2 Timothy 3, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy" (verses 1–2).

We have certainly lost sight of God's commandment to "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:12). Notice the commandment is to honor your father and mother—not honor your father and father, or your mother and mother, or your mother and her live-in lover or partner. We tamper with God's order at our own peril.

Know this: Satan always hates what God loves. God loves the family. He established the marriage of a man and woman as a physical representation of His love for the church and the church's love for Him. God effectively says, "You want to know how much I love my people? Look at the way that Christian man loves his wife. You want to know how much My people love Me? Look at the way that Christian woman loves her husband. This is my model. This is my example for all of you to observe."

Therefore it should come as no surprise that the devil would try to undermine the family.
