Oh! How I hate to be right on this one. But it's now clear to all that Waziri is more concern with banks money than fighting corruption. What has happened to our E.F.C.C?

After amnesty, what's next? What are his plans for the peaceful people of the land? Don't they also need a package? Or don't anybody notice that the violence in the Delta also affect those who are not militant? Or does one need to carry guns before getting any attention?

Nigerian leaders are the problem due to their
lack of wisdom
coveteousness
illiteracy
poverty
to mention a few

U are right to an extent. However, U exclude the followers. The followers are also part of the problem. Until they start asking accountability, transparency, discipline & good governance from the elite, things wont change for good.

True. However, my question is, do we have any of these attributes in our power elite? My answer is no. So, welcome to reality. It's still a joke to me.

U are right to an extent. It all boils down to leadership. Without effective Leadership, nothing will work. It's like the entrepreneur in business.

What we need is not a review of the constitution, BUT a moral review of our lives, WE, EVERYONE OF US IS VERY IRRESPONSIBLE AND INDICIPLINE.
when we become responsible and diciplined EVERYONE OF US, then we can effect a change when we are elected into public office.

I THINK THE REVIEW SHOULD BE DONE ON IMMUNITY CLAUSE THAT PREVENT THOSE IN POWER FROM BEEN PROSECUTED WHILE IN OFFICE....YES, WE NEED TO REBRAND OUR HEART AND FEAR GOD THAT WAY WE CAN HAVE A GOOD GOVERNANCE
I concur.

we are in 2009 and we have only 11yrs to 2020 but our electricity is at the deplorable stage, our industries are dying some are transferring to countries Ghana, police are becoming more of robbery than protection of lives and properties, election which is the fundamental step for development has not been free and fair.

as far as we have not taken any step to tackle these, vision 2020 remain an expensive  joke.

Ezi-oku!!

The neglect, rape and exploitation of the area in the 1st instance,
Bad rulers and representatives of the N.D,
A conspiracy involving Multinational companies, the Federal,State and Local Governments and successive Elites from the Niger Delta, to short change the region, at the expense of Development and environmental degradation.

You are perfectly right on this one. Bravo!

Electoral malpractice in Nigeria has outgrown selling of votes. They political class don't even buy votes these days. They don't allow U to vote. They vote themselves. That is not to say the situation is hopeless. We can re-seize our destiny if & hen we are determine to move this country forward. The political class is outnumbered by the masses. They can only trample on the rights of the people for as long as they are allowed to.

We need a comprehensive review of the Constitution. Not a mere cosmetic make overs. If they aint ready to draft a People oriented document, they should forget they entire exercise. Lest it will be futile.

Now this once again expose the inertia of our so called African leaders. Do anyone have to remind them that they have/NEED to monitor the Power sharing deal that lead the the MDF/ZANU-PF Government of national Unity? I don't think so. I am with Tsvangirai  on this one.

I recommend a revolution of the mind. Nigerians must first and foremost liberate ourselves from internal contradictions. We must cure ourselves of our supceptibility. We must learn to ask critical questions as and when due. This needs a different kind of orientation...

True, power is one of the biggest draw-backs to our development. However, it's a part of a bigger problem which is the lack of leadership.

I still ca,t believe that some Nigerians actually believed that the present stock of law-makers can actually carry out any meaningful review of the 1999 Constitution. This is another jock that has rest for a while now. Kiakiakiakiakiakiakiakiakiakiakia! Nigeria is really a circus sometimes.
