Forum / The Buzz Central / Re: Foluke Daramola Ejected From Marwa Gardens Abode |

| Why was it neccesary to publish a story about a lady's misfortune? Ms. Foluke Daramola is presently down on her lucks and that should have been a very private matter but our 'busy bodies' needed to tell the whole world about it. I will say it is very wrong to try to shame someone because she is not doing well financially. Please folks learn to respect people's feeling and privacy.

Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: I was once a prostitute, will he accept me if i reveal it to him? |
on: 24-05-2012 05:22 AM
| hard decision , i suggest you should not tell him
If you decide to hide your past, you will carry that burden with a heavy heart. What is the worst that will happen if he ever finds out? Honesty is a very good policy when you are in a relation. The worst that can happen is that he will leave the relation and that will be a proof that he never really loved you. Take the chance and tell him.

Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: Who is a prostitute? |
on: 24-05-2012 05:10 AM
| Pls can someone define or explain it to us? To my own understanding, prostitute is any woman that exchanges her privacy (segxwal) for money. If u agree with me, what will u call the so called girl friends that are practicing NO MONEY NO LOVE?
Your definition is partially correct. A prostitute receives money or gifts in exchange for segxwal favors. A prostitute can be a man of woman. This where your definition is incorrect. Men too can be prostitute. Now you know.

| ONUOHA SHOULD THANK HER GOD THAT SHE WAS CAUGHT IN NIGERIA WERE SHE WILL BE IN JAIL AND STILL EAT FUFU AND EBA, INSHORT HER FAMILY NEEDS TO HAVE A THANKSGIVING PARTY ON HER BEHALF, HAD IT BEEN THAT SHE WAS CAUGHT IN MALAYSIA?............................. : READERS YOU COMPLETE YOU SENTENCE . Maxwelk is right. If Miss Faith Onuoha would have received a more severe punishment if she was caught in Malaysia. The punishment for drug trafficking in Malaysia is the death penalty. You get hanged by the neck till you died if you are found guilty of that crime.
As for Animasauen Salikiatu Bisola Simbo, she would get similar length of prison time as if she was caught in UK. However, Nigerian prisons are diffrent from those in UK in living conditions and abused of inmates.
Both ladies are young and would still be able to rehabilitate their lives after serving their jail terms. I wished both women best of luck and sympathy.

Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: Should female children share in the family inheritance? |
on: 19-05-2012 11:06 PM
| We learn new thing here everyday. I for one did not know that in some cultures in Nigeria, female children are not allowed to inherit properties from their family. My village does not discriminate.
Infact properties left by the parents belong to the surviving children. They are not even shared. They become properties jointly owned and used. If they are rented out, the child get shares from the income regardless of gender. However, the younger kids tends to benefit most since the older children may have already acquired their own properties.

Jennynwa, only you can answer your question. Reason is that you know him better than everyone reading your story. Readers do not have all the information about your boyfriend's prior behaviors. We do know much about the relationship in general.
You never told us why he was unable to visit or call you during your hospital stay. Is he too poor? He did send you N20,000 to help with your medical bills.
No one can offer a better advice for you than you.

| Why don't you let boys for now and focus on your studies? You'll have an entire life to mess it up,don't start from now!
A good advice from Ms. Bittersweet. It is wise to get your education first. Your education will take less than 4 years. There will be lot of time for relationship later. Hope you have a quick recovery.

| 2.7milion naira? thats small, what about someone with 100million pounds sterling, a beg leave the poor man alone, i am sure he is new in this trade.
No matter how small you think the amount is, fraud is still a crime. A bank manager is supposed to have honesty as a trait. If you cannot trust your bank manager, why would you want to trust him with your money? He deserve to go to jail for betraying customers trust.

| I utterly condemn the act of blood convenant. Never underestimate the power of the tongue when taking an oath especially when the bible and blood are involved. What were they thinking? that was so naive and silly. Basically both of them are in deep trouble. Call me superstitious or whatever, but things wont go well for them until they break their blood convenant. People sometimes take it as a joke but blood is very binding and sacred. I suggest you both go to church for serious deliverance so they can go their seperate ways without consequences. God help them.
I saw a few Nollywood movies based on similar themes. The outcomes were always bad for both people involved. In one movie, one of the party died for failing to keep his part of the bargain. It was a Yoruba language movie. Blood Covenants are serious business and should not be used to keep or hold your partner. They use it to protect their investment in relationship.
This go to show how little trust some couples have on each other. A painful reality is that when some Naija men or women go overseas, they change and dump their lover back home.

In some cases, marriages work better when spouses's family (in-lwas) are kept away. In the case of this lady, she would have been doing okay if her husband family were not around to intrude and interfer with the marriage.
Advice to woman: Try to reach an understanding with your spouse about the length of time in-laws can stay when they visit. And how to keep them from ruinning the marriage.
Often, the in-laws feel they are in competition with their daughter-in-law. It is difficult to fight your spouses' family when they are determined to destroy the marriage. I hope this lady survive this conspiracy by her mother-in-law.

These type of crimes against domestic helps and wards are very common in Naija. Often, people talk about them, condemn them and that is all that happens until the newspapers revealed another incident of abuse.
If Nigerians really feel bad about these household crimes, they should work to have their state legislatures enact laws to prevent these crimes. There should be heavy penalties for abusing children that are used as domestic helps.
