On the same day that a South African woman was being executed for drug smuggling in China, another one was getting caught trying to smuggle 1.5 kilograms of cocaine in her dreadlocks on a flight to Bangkok, it was reported today.

South African Nobanda Nolubabalo, 23, was arrested and held in Thailand's capital yesterday after customs officers allegedly noticed a suspicious white substance in her hair. Officials later carried out a search and discovered she had allegedly matted the Class A drug into her dreadlocks before boarding a flight from Brazil.
Thailand's Bangkok Post reported that the smuggled cocaine had a street value of £93,000 (4.5 million baht or about 1.2 million Rand). It is reported that: "Authorities found something unusual about her dreadlocks.

"A search found traces of white substance which turned out to be cocaine."A total of 1.5kg of cocaine was found hidden in her hair."

Nolubabalo was today held in custody at Bangkok's international Suvarnabhumi Airport as she disembarked a Qatar Airways flight which had come from Sao Paolo via Doha.

The Bangkok Post reported that the suspect had allegedly admitted trying to smuggle the drug and claimed she had done so after being hired to work as a drug mule by a Thailand-based businessman for £1,200 (60,000 baht, about 15,450 Rand).
Thailand has some of the toughest anti-drugs laws on the planet, with judges permitted to impose the death penalty for traffickers.

The South African's arrest follows the execution of another South African citizen this week for drug smuggling in China. Janice Linden, 38, was killed by lethal injection on Monday after she was caught in November 2008 trying to smuggle 3kg of crystal meth into the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

South Africa's President Jacob Zuma appealed unsuccessfully to the Chinese government to commute the sentence before she was put to death in prison.

Yet another sickening racist rant - this time on a London bus - has appeared online.
In the clip, secretly filmed on the 29 bus between Wood Green and Trafalgar Square, a blonde woman is seen hurling abuse at a male passenger before she appears to punch him.
The unnamed woman, wearing a white t-shirt, is first heard screaming the word 'c***' repeatedly and other passengers appear to be laughing.

She is then heard shouting at the passenger: 'I'm a great white c***' before adding: 'Do you know what, I really don't know whether you're afro-bian, (sic) Caribbean'.
The man replies: 'Honey, I just explained to you who the f*** I am'.
The woman, who is filmed holding herself up between two support poles in the corridor of the bus, responds: 'Who are you?' and he says: 'I am f****** English alright'.
She adds: 'Does anyone know who he is?'

After more ranting, much of which is inaudible, she tries to swing her legs towards the man as if to kick him. However, the attempt fails and she falls over on her back, but promptly gets back up and appears to swing her fist towards his face instead.

The passenger responds by appearing to lunge towards her and others watch as he tries to stop her hitting him. He is heard saying: 'Sit the f*** down', as he battles to stop her. One passenger, who appears to be the person filming the episode, is heard saying 'Oh my god' repeatedly in shock.

Others are heard shouting to the bus driver to stop the bus before she appears to leave.

ABUJA—FEDERAL Government has given a victim recently gang-raped by ten men in Bayelsa State a grant of N500, 000 to set her up in her welding business.

This followed a request from the victim to enable her to get back to normal life. She also requested that she be treated for any segxwally transmitted disease she might have contracted through the act. She also requested that she be rehabilitated and her assailants brought to justice.

The Minister of Youth Development, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, while giving the grant to the victim in Abuja, said he had written to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Hafiz Ringim, to compel the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State to immediately prosecute the three men arrested over the crime.

He added that 3 out of 10 men were arrested and were being currently detained by the police while the other 7 are still at large and vowed that justice must take it course.

The minister explained that health wise, the victim is okay, as she has been medically certified free from any segxwally transmitted diseases, STD, including HIV/AIDS.

Abdullahi said N500, 000 out of the N1 million she requested for to enable her to start a welding business has been provided. He appealed to well meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to support the victim and several others that are crying for help in their areas.

Narrating her ordeal, the victim said about 10 men came to her house and took her to a nearby bush, where she was gang raped.

37year old Janice Bronwyn Linden from South African, was this morning executed in China for drug smuggling. Janice was arrested at the Baiyun International Airport, in China in November 2008 for smuggling three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Linden was said to have maintained her innocence despite the Chinese court giving her a two year reprieve in which to admit her responsibility. If she had done so, she would have served life imprisonment instead of being executed.

“But, the fact that she chose not to go that route, makes one wonder whether she was really guilty or not. When one faces the possibility of death, one will say and do anything. Janice, it seemed was not prepared to go down without a fight. This case needs to be fully investigated.”A friend of the family told reporters.

Two of her sisters were allowed an hour with her this morning before she was put to death by lethal injection. RIP Janice..
