242  Forum / Politics / Ojukwu's will Continued. on: 1-12-2012 09:46 AM
For the benefit of those that complained that the post was inconclusive, here is the concluding part.

The transport company had been in contention following the insistence of Ojukwu’s widow, through her lawyer, that the estate management agent, allegedly appointed by her late husband, Mr. Emmanuel Omuojine, would remain in charge of the five properties in Lagos.

Directors of the company had in a recent public notice disowned the agent, saying that at no time was he appointed by the company’s Board of Directors to manage any of their properties.

The properties linked to the company include 13 Hawksworth Road, Ikoyi (now 13, Ojora Road, Ikoyi); 32A Commercial Avenue, Yaba; 29 Queens Drive, Ikoyi; 30 Gerard Road, Ikoyi and 4 Macpherson Avenue, Ikoyi, all in Lagos.

The much-talked about Will read in Enugu may have finally settled perceived family wrangling over who should control what property of the late Ikemba; that is, if those concerned would respect his wishes.

Bianca came in a black SUV, with some aides around 8.55am, dressed in a long native skirt and blouse, and shinny black shoes to match.

Ekoh had commenced the process by passing the two sealed brown envelopes containing the Will round the family members, journalists, executors and witnesses present in the room.

Surprisingly, Emeka Jnr and other family members called in to say they were on their way and had resolved to access a copy of the Will at the Registry.

The ‘fireworks’ began with the acknowledgement of Tenny Haman among Ojukwu’s children, to whom he bequeathed his property.

The Nigerian ambassador to Spain would be all smiles later, as the Will awarded her Ojukwu’s Enugu mansion, ‘Casabianca,’ at 7 Forest Crescent, GRA, which also was named after her.

The mansion is the only property of the late Ikemba in Enugu and was where he spent his last moments.

Bianca also got two property located at Plot 20, Jabi Abuja, with Certificate of Occupancy number 4405, as well as another at Kuje, Abuja.

The late Ikemba also willed to his beautiful wife all personal effects, monies and cars for her upkeep and that of her children, as well as two hectares of land at Umuezeani Umudim Nnewi with a proviso, “if she doesn’t remarry.”

Tenny was allotted Jubilee Hotels, Zaria, but when the codicil was read, it was observed that the hotel had been sold; hence she would receive proceeds from the sale.

For Emeka Jnr, it was not a fair deal, as he got only a house in Umudim Nnewi.

Ojukwu further willed a hectare of land each to all his daughters, but directed that his Nnewi property is “to remain a binding legacy to us for generations to come.”

Bianca, who could hardly move from her seat after the Will was read, also refused to respond to questions from journalists, especially on whether she would re-marry.

The late Ikemba stated that only the eight listed, and no other person, should be regarded as his children.

Those listed were Tenny Haman (daughter); Emeka Jnr (son); Mmegha (daughter); Okigbo (son); Ebele (daughter); Chineme (daughter); Afam and Nwachukwu (sons).

He ostensibly shocked Bianca with the recognition of Tenny Haman, the new member of the family unknown to other family members.

Bianca betrayed her candour when she expressed shock that no one ever mentioned the young lady’s name to her hearing.

But she was very pleasant about it, while one of the two witnesses to the Will, Mark Ezemba, acknowledged to other members of the family that he knew about the lady, who was obviously the late Ojukwu’s first child.

Chukwudebe (Debe) Ojukwu, Lagos lawyer who manages some of the Ojuwu family properties in Lagos and widely acclaimed as the Ikemba’s son, was conspicuously not given any mention in the Will.

The document was registered at the Registry on July 9, 2005 and was said to have superseded any other he had written before.

Incidentally, one of the Trustees and Executors of the Will and former monarch of Oraukwu in Idemili North Council, Igwe Emeka OgbuNood, died last year.

The surviving Trustees and Executors are Mrs. Bianca Odinaka Ojukwu and James Chukwunenye.

In his reaction, Debe told The Guardian that he had not seen the Will, but that from information filtering to him, there appeared to be certain flaws in it.

He said: “I was not there because I was not invited. And as a lawyer, I cannot be there uninvited.

“But my non-invitation shows that somebody had read the Will before now, because if the Will was confidential, as it ought to be, they would have invited all his relations and children, so that the content of the Will would be read before everybody.”

He, however, hinted that he would not be challenging the Will in court, because he is okay with the way he is, noting that a father can decide to disinherit his child and share his property the way he wants.

He stressed though that such actions do not take away the fact that the child is his biological child.

He said what Ojukwu willed to Bianca was his personal property and not the company properties, adding: “Ojukwu said Bianca should be a Trustee in the transport company; that does not mean that he willed the company to her.

“That cannot affect the property I am managing, because I have a management contract.

“Besides, it was the Board of the company that handed over the property management to me, not Ojukwu.

“So, there is no cause for alarm,” Debe insisted.

THE much expected Will and final Testament of the late Biafran leader and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the last election, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Ezeigbo Gburugburu, was read at the Probate Registry of the Enugu High Court Friday before some members of the family, who were able to attend.

The mood at the office of the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court was that of anxiety. The expectations were high, as all gathered wanted to know in details the last Will of the late Dim Ojukwu.

A few minutes before 9am, the Registrar, Mr. Dennis Ekoh stepped into the registry and not wanting to sustain the air of anxiety, immediately sought the approval of the family members present to open the sealed envelop containing the Will, which he read clearly to the hearing of all concerned.

Among those who witnessed the brief ceremony was Ojukwu’s wife and Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Bianca.

Ojukwu willed most choice property, including the contentious transport company in Lagos, Ojukwu Transport Company, in which he transferred his position in the company, to Bianca and her children.

“Bianca and her children should take over my position in the company,” Ojukwu said in the Will.  “She may also wish to appoint somebody that can represent her on the Board if so desired,” the Will read

Anyways, I wont reply to your messages again as I am tired of this back and forth, I'm too matured and busy for it.
My point remains, Sophie's list was offensive to women and a total falsehood. I am sure you have sisters or maybe female friends and definitely a mother. She said 99% of Nigerian women will open their legs for airtime, any of these women in your life fit the bill?
I don't mean to be insulting I am just driving my point accross

This is a social network and a forum where people say all kinds of jokes and I really don't think she meant to insult or demean anyone but I guess u took it too personal. o
I do do not know exactly what you mean when referred to me as "imposter", i thought imposter has to do with custom duty and tax but in case what you mean to say is  impostor then you miss it.... I am exactly who my identity portrays except that i doubt if you are really acquainted with my identity...... May be am beginning to have a clue of where you are coming from.... Perhaps to you and several others, Nigeria is divided along religious and regional lines, so any one with a non hausa identity who does not join you join you to insult hausa/fulanis and call them names even when he does not see reasons for that is likely to be an impostor, well i do not belong to that group as i comment on issues based on logics and facts rather than sentiments.... On whether Sanusi condemns boko haram or not, it sounds as if that is part of the reason why you have your reservation and in as much as i agree with you that people like Sanusi should condemn Boko haram and other madness in the north openly and in strong terms i feel that's entirely another topic hence you don't have let it becloud ur sense of judgement...... I have only said, it's obvious that using 70% of national income for recurrent expenditure is bad for any country and that even as people (we) condemn Sanusi's opinion they should come up with better ideas on how to solve the said problem instead of rabble-rousing and calling of names and if that suggests to you that i don't have anybody in the whole Nigerian-civil service, then, so be it.....

You know of a saying that says " He that lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones" It gives me the creep hearing a CBN governor making such comments. You claim to talk on facts and figures, yet you stand behind a man that keeps coming up with policies that will tear the economy down. Hope you have the facts on how much was intended to print the new notes, his bank reforms and how he strongly supported the the Oil Subsidy Removal and so many other statements I won't bore you with.Nigeria does not support coin system and he wants to bring the coins back. Now the coins we've had in the past where are they in the system presently? This is my take on his so called policies that if such a man with his level of education and exposure can talk and act in the capacity he did then he his definitely not fit to be a CBN governor. I don't care if the person is from East, North, South or West, 'cos his policies are not in the interest of the country.

254  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Boy kills father to save mother’s life on: 30-11-2012 07:56 PM

A fight between husband and wife Mr. Christopher and Mrs.Thorpe started on Saturday evening, during a bonfire party. Their son who witnessed the dispute, turned violent and fatally shot his

father in a desperate attempt to save his mother's life.

According to reporters, the couple went inside of a mobile home and an argument ensued. "He was beating her, [he] kept punching her," said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter, according to newsmen. "Then they went from the living room to the master bedroom where he kept beating her."

The couple's 17-year-old son, Channing Thorpe, ran into the mobile home where he discovered his father strangling his mother, police say. The teen used a handgun to fire several shots at his father to kill him.

The boy's mother suffered a bullet wound to the thigh, the Tampa Tribune reports. She received treatment at a nearby hospital and was later released.

Hugh Williamson, who lives a few doors down from where the incident took place, was saddened by the violence.

"You hate to wake up and hear things like that much less in your own neighbourhood," Williamson told newsmen.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are still investigating the matter. Channing Thorpe was left in the custody of his mother. He is not facing charges.

I don't personally agree with Sanusi that 50% of civil servants should be sacked but then, that wasn't the only thing he said, he talked about reducing the number of the national legislators and merging some ministries and agencies in order to reduce over head cost and few other national issues which are well on track so it's unfair to call him names, and what some persons don't understand is that the so-called civil servants include the numerous political appointees who are virtually doing nothing other than to siphoned funds.Imagine one Governor having over 100 personal aids who are doing virtually nothing..... Sanusi like any other Nigerian has the right to er his view on national issues..... You don't call someone anti-Nigeria or a ram or several other names just because you do not agree with his opinion..... Sanusi did not just wake up and started calling for the sack of civil servants because he hate them rather in his own understanding he was trying to suggest a possible solution for an obvious national problem which does not make him a bad person even if his suggestions do not go down well with us...... The only problem i have now is that all those calling Sanusi names have not come up with alternatives ideas on how to solve the obvious problem of over-head cost taking 70% of the nation's income or budget...... If think somebody's idea is not good enough all you need to do is to come with ur supposed superior idea and not to call people names.

Blablabla! Guy you are just blabbing and u never gave any solution to the ailing Nigerian economy either. Sanusi is Anti Nigeria and i stand to be corrected. His policies are borne out of his agenda from Boko Haram or is it Aboki na Ram. When u hold certain political position, the ideal thing is not to say incitement words. Now let me ask you this, have you ever read or heard that Sanusi had ever condemned the Boko Haram activities? He is not even in position to say who the nation needs to sack and I bet you are talking like this 'cos none of your family member is in civil service. I think u are an imposter, cos u don't sound like ur name.
