5441 Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / 21 Year Old Nigerian Boy With Chronic Kidney Disease Needs Help on: 8-11-2013 10:57 PM

  Emmanuel (left) and Emma Ugolee.

You all remember my friend Emma Ugolee? He sent out this broadcast on blackberry just now and after reading it and looking at his DP,i shed tears.....tears because the words and pic cut me deep...

A 21 year old orphaned boy going through so much and has no one to support him financially....it tore me to shreds.

what he needs is peanuts...please after reading what follows.lets decide if we should open up a SAVE EMMANUEL FUND and donate monies to help him undergo dialysis.

Read Emma Ugolee's broadcast.

''2day was 1 of ol e when grumpy is too weak a term 2 describe the mood. Money on my mind like mad. The craving 2 raise a few mills and get this transplant over and done with.

Yea! I have got CKD (chronic kidney disease)Yea! It makes the death nap seem welcome sometimes.
I know,I know :"Emma stop sounding negative. Its worse 4 some people".
The easiest thing to say till the shoes are worn. By the way do I really know anyone who has it worse?

Well, back to the annoying routine of dialysis. I went to the hospital and barely noticed the nurses who were stretching out squeezed N500 and N200 Naira notes. Thinking it was 4 the normal KFC lunch, I asked them to count me in 4 a piece of cripsy chicken.

They said it wasn't 4 lunch but contributions to help pay for dialysis for a 21yr who was 10k short 4 his session.
I Felt my pocket. Did a cash inventory and voilaaa!!!!

After my bill. There was left exactly 10k 200. I dropped it on d table and said "keep una money abeg"

5mins later, d door was banged open with such force. I almost jumped of my bed. Robbers? A fight? Before I could figure it out. An elderly lady and 2 young men went on their knees. 3pairs of crying eyes pouring every blessing thinkable on me.I was so embarrassed. All I could keep saying was: "No ma, Amen, Please Ma,Amen,No ma,Get up Ma, Amen .

She was his aunt, he had missed dialysis for 2 sessions, he is an only son who lost his dad a few years ago and his Mum joined his Dad 3months ago and she who I thought was aunt turned out 2 be d old lady of a friends. He was a semi hostage before I came in.

Oh my,I offered to do 1 more session on Monday for him and d tears were released a lot more. My tears were held back as an ebubedike until I asked for his name and he said Emmanuel.... Come see me dey cry.
I promised him I would ask 4 him as well everywhere I try 2 raise funds 4rm.(Meet my new friend Emma on my DP) After the rivers were cried. I looked at my God and said. Please forgive me. I do not have it worse. Am sorry 4 not being grateful. Thank u.''

PLEASE PAY INTO HIS ACCOUNT IF THIS TOUCHES YOU

ODUTOLA EMMANUEL OLUWASEUN,

PLEASE CALL HIM AND ENCOURAGE HIM IF

YOU CANNOT HELP HIM FINANCIALLY.

*What do you think? I know lots of people might have it worse but this young man has no one and all he need is just N10K for every session to stay alive.

If ten people donate 10k each, that would make it ten sessions, enough to last him through christmas and into the first quarter of next year.

Lets give him this as xmas gift and pray that God sends healing and help his way.

5443 Forum / Sports / Kilmarnock's Rabiu Ibrahim Aims To Prove 'I Am Still Alive' on: 8-11-2013 09:46 PM

Rabiu Ibrahim has appealed to Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston for game time to prove to people back in his native Nigeria he is "still alive".

The 22-year-old midfielder is back in contention after collapsing during a 2-0 win over Ross County on 19 October.

"It will make people back home know that I'm fine, that there is no problem and I am still playing," said Ibrahim.

"I would appreciate that. My family have been a little bit worried even though we speak on the phone."

Ibrahim thinks his family might have thought he had been masking the real seriousness of his series of hospital tests.

"In the game, I felt like I had a slight headache," said the midfielder, who is hoping for at least a substitute appearance against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Saturday.

"I remember sitting down before lying down. The official said he was speaking to me and I didn't reply.

I wasn't worried about my career because I knew nothing was wrong with me” -
                                                              Rabiu Ibrahim Kilmarnock midfielder

"Afterwards, they asked me some questions and I answered some of them. I had some tests and everything was okay. They couldn't find anything.

"I had an MRI scan and a machine they put on me for 24 hours and it was all okay.

"The doctor called me on Wednesday and told me everything was okay and I could go back to training.

"It's a relief. I feel very happy and excited. To be back in the team and to see the players was a very good feeling for me."

Ibrahim, though, insists he never feared his playing career was over.

"I wasn't worried because I knew nothing was wrong with me," he said. "It just happened. I was okay before the game.

"I wasn't ill or anything and I don't know why it happened. But I wasn't worried. I was just waiting for the results and I knew the results would be in my favour."

Johnston is delighted that Ibrahim has been given permission to start playing again.

"It takes a lot of pressure off him," he said. "He must have been stressed out with the health scare, but he's fine and he's back in the squad.

"He's a good player and it's good to have someone of his quality back in the squad.

"You can never be too cautious with stuff like that, so we are just delighted he has been given the all clear."
5444 Forum / The Buzz Central / Rukky Sanda Rebrands on: 8-11-2013 09:07 PM

Rukky Sanda

Actress, producer and movie director Rukky Sanda has decided to do something totally different from her signature blonde looks, according to thenet.ng.

Her name is synonymous with the word ‘blonde’ because that has been her choice of hair colour over the years, but her recent picture suggests she may be rebranding.

Rukky was recently in the news when she displayed her nipples for public view. The beautiful actress exposed her tempting Bosom s to the public but the nipples rather generated greater attention. It is, however, yet to be confirmed if it is part of the reported rebranding.
She wore a dress that exposed her boobs to the premiere of ‘House of Gold’ in Nigeria and at a point, she was forced to use her hands to cover her cleavage when all attention went to that part of her body.

5447 Forum / Politics / Ghanaian Minister Fired For Saying She Plans To Make $1million From Politics on: 8-11-2013 03:55 PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NgPByEETKTo

A Ghanaian female deputy minister has been dismissed by the country's President John Dramani Mahama after she allegedly said she will not quit politics until she makes at least one million dollars.

Deputy Minister of Communication, Victoria Hammah, (pictured above) was sacked today, a day after she was heard in a leaked tape to radio stations saying she would not quit politics until she's rich

The voice purported to be that of Victoria Hammah is heard telling a female companion

“I will not quit politics until I make one million dollars. If you have money then you can control people." She also criticized another minister, the deputy minister of gender, children and social protection, Rachel Appoh, in the leaked tape. She said “it was useless for the deputy minister to fight Nana Lithur whose husband is friends with former President Jerry Rawlings and was President Mahama’s lawyer during the 2012 election challenge. She cannot boast of 100,000 Ghana cedis or 100,000 dollars.

The Ghanaian government released a statement today announcing her dismissal, but didn't give any reason for the sack. That's how politics works in Ghana. She was sacked for what she intended to do and not what she's done already. Nigeria should learn from this.
5448 Forum / The Buzz Central / East Africa's Best Bomedian, Basketmouth, Others Stun Owerri At Glo Laffta Fest on: 8-11-2013 03:46 PM

Owerri, Imo State capital, was last Sunday treated to a long night of fun and excitement as Globacom staged Africa’s biggest comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest, in the city.

Government officials, businessmen, civil servants, workers and students filled the Rochas Convention Centre, venue of the show to the brim to savour the amazing evening of rib-cracking jokes‎ and delightful music. The expectations of the guests at the shows were met as the 12 comedians who were on call sent them laughing‎ heartily non-stop with hilarious jokes complemented by hit tunes from three of Nigeria’s leading musicians. Continue...

Popular comedian Basketmouth led the likes of the hilarious Okey Bakassi, Senator, Julius Agwu, the Ugandan sensational standup comedian, Salvador, Gordons, Buchi, Akpororo, Funny Bone, Emeka Smith, 2CanTalk and Osama to entertain the audience with exceptionally funny and spontaneous jokes. Mr. Incredible, MI, ended his performance with his hit track, Africa rapper Number 1, which had virtually everybody in the hall chorusing with him.

Naeto C, an indigene of Owerri was super thrilled to perform in his home town for the first time and he wowed the crowd with a brilliant performance gingered by two female dancers.

The energetic Omawumi also caame to the party, crowning her performance with her hit song, Who I go tell‎.

The Ugandan master of comedy, Salvador, was one of the major highlights of the evening
as the audience connected superbly with his demonstrative jokes. He got a standing ovation for his session. His Nigerian counterparts drew their jokes largely from contemporary developments in the Nigerian social scene to entertain the people.‎ Buchi recalled a lyric from a popular music where an artiste mentioned a banana line 15 times in quick succession. Everybody in the hall was astonished when he played the track and asked them to count with him.

Basketmouth who anchored the show, asked the crowd to show some love to Globacom for organising the event and the crowd responded with a deafening ovation.

By the time the curtain was drawn on the event aptly tagged Invasion LOL, the audience, among whom were Hon. Chike Orjiako, Director-General, Youth Development and Empowerment, Imo State, Mr. Alfred Ononugbo, Chief Protocol Officer, Governor's Office, Mr. Chimezie Duru, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Roachas Okorocha on ICT, Bar. Olutoye Durosimi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, Imo State Police Command, and a host of others, agreed that the show was the very first of its kind in the Heartland City of Owerri.

Specifically, Engineer John Chiemeze, who attended the event with his wife, said, "this is the first time ever that any company or organization will bring a foreign comedian to come and perform in a show in Owerri. The most interesting thing about that Ugandan man (Salvador) was that his jokes were so homely and one will think he is a Nigerian. It was a great show, the best ever, and I had fun all through."

Meanwhile, it will be the turn of Port Harcourt to host the show this weekend. The Port Harcourt edition of Laffta Fest, according to Globacom, will be held at the beautiful Aztech Arcum Event Centre, Stadium Road area of the city at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday.

N5.6bn Pension Scam: Former Oyo State Head Of Service, 11 Pension Fund Thieves Arraigned

A former Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Kudirat Iyabo Adeleke and 11 others were on Thursday November 7, 2013 remanded in prison custody following their arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission before Justice Bolaji Yusuf of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on charges bordering on conspiracy, stealing and criminal breach of trust.

The other accused persons who were arraigned alongside Adeleke are Muili Hakeem Aderemi, former executive secretary, Oyo State Pension Board; Adedutan Johnson; Oguntayo Banji, former internal auditor, Oyo State Pension Board; and Kareem Rasheed.

Others are: Muili Adedamola; Adesina Jimoh Ayoade, former cashier, Oyo State Pension Board; Adebiyi Olasumbo Musendia, former Admin Officer, Oyo State Pension Board; Johnson Bosede; Iyabo Giwa, former cashier, Oyo State Pension Board, Adewale Kehinde and Olujinmi Adebayo.

The accused persons are alleged to have stolen the sum of N5.6billion (Five billion, six hundred million naira) meant for the payment of pensions and gratuities to various categories of retired teachers in Oyo state.

Count one of the charges reads: “Muili Hakeem, Iyabo Giwa, Adesina Jimson Ayoade, Oguntayo Banji N., Adebiyi Musendiq Olasunbo, Adeleke Kudirat Iyabo, Muili Adedamola, Adeduntan Johnson, Johnson Bosede, Kareem Rasheed, Olujimi Adebayo and Adewale Kehinde on or about the 29th day of September, 2010 at Ibadan within the jurisdiction of this honourable court with intent to defraud, conspired to obtain money by false pretence from Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board account number 145430000040401 at Finbank plc( Now FCMB plc Account number 300564854)”.

Count two reads: “ Muili Hakeem, Iyabo Giwa, Adesina Jimson Ayoade, Oguntayo Banji N., Adebiyi Musendiq Olasunbo, Adeleke Kudirat Iyabo, Muili Adedamola, Adeduntan Johnson, Johnson Boseds, Kareem Rasheed, Olujimi Adebayo and Adewale Kehinde on or about the 29th day of September, 2010 at Ibadan within the jurisdiction of this honourable court with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of N8,975,000.00( Eight Million, Nine Hundred and Seventy Five Thousand Naira) from Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board account number 145430000040401 at Finbank plc( Now FCMB Plc Account number 300564854) on false representation made to Finbank Plc that the money was the gratuity of a pensioner named Kareem R.W.”

All the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges. EFCC counsel, Gbolahan Latona, informed the court that he was ready for trial and prayed the court to remand all the accused persons in prison custody. He said that he was only served copies of application for bail for seven of the accused persons in court and would need time to respond to the applications. Besides, he stressed that the EFCC custody was not available for the accused persons because of inadequate space and the distance between the court located in Ibadan, Oyo state and the EFCC’s zonal office in Lagos.

However, counsel to the 6th defendant, Abiodun Dabiri, told the court that the offences for which the former Head of Service was being held were bailable and since she was granted administrative bail by the EFCC and didn’t jump bail, “she would make herself available for trial”. He prayed the court for liberal bail terms for his client. Counsel to the 5th, 11th & 12th defendants, Otunba Olayinka Bolanle, told the court that he filed an application for bail for the 5th defendant on November 4, 2013 but made oral application for bail for the 11th and 12th defendants. He prayed the court to admit his clients to bail on liberal terms. Other defence counsel aligned their positions with Bolanle and urged the court to offer bail to their clients on liberal terms.

Justice Yusuf, in her ruling urged the defence counsel to present written applications for bail before the court and adjourned hearing on bail applications till November 14, 2013. She ordered that the accused persons be remanded in Agodi prison custody.
5451 Forum / Politics / Peter Obi Is Persecuting Anglicans –Hon Odedo on: 8-11-2013 11:49 AM

Member, representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Charles C. Odedo, today continues his catalogue of reasons Anambra must have a change in governance and why his party, APC, will defeat APGA on November 16.

Excerpts:

You were highlighting the things the incumbent government is doing
that according to you have necessitated change; do you still have more?

Yes, the issue of non-conduct of local government election is one that even members of APGA have joined hands with others to condemn their own government, because there is a point at which a man would say no to injustice even if it means losing his life.

In the beginning, the APGA members thought it was politics but when after deceiving them twice and making them spend all their money, with some of them selling off their houses and even lands to pay Obi and his party APGA for the ticket of the party and he refused to conduct the election, they joined others to say that local government election must be conducted.

Remember also that the National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh said it severally in the national dallies and at public functions he asked Obi to conduct the local government election so that the party will have honour as one that can deliver on its promises.

Umeh said that was why Obi and those mismanaging the local government fund with him wanted him dead. Peter Obi’s Government has refused to conduct local government election in almost eight years it has been in office. It is a government of deceit.

They have fixed date for local Government election more than five times. Each time, they have failed to perform. There is now a new date of December, 2013. Is deceit
what they want to continue? Lets us watch and see.

Peter Obi runs his Government by donating money to institutions and even to private companies and buying them vehicles. We need a change so that Anambra state funds can be saved to give our people the much needed free education and bursary awards and also a reduction in the school fees, especially in higher institutions.

Accountability demands that Government should be the one executing Government projects but now Peter Obi is just donating money and relying on beneficiaries to think, plan and execute or run the government for him.
Mind you, this is against the law of public procurement and fiscal responsibility.

Two things stand clear in what Peter Obi and the APGA government is doing with the funds and destiny of Ndi Anambra. One, it is clear that the APGA government led by Obi has no agenda or has run short of ideas, hence the resort to sharing the state funds to groups and institutions to initiate projects and execute for government, whatever that project may be. Two, lack of vision and knowledge of good governance. But again in its “smartness”, the APGA/Obi government failed to realize that the over 90 per cent of us, Anambrarians, are out here waiting and today they are talking of continuity of no account of local government funds for eight years. We say no to that. In fact, the tempo of the donations/money sharing has increased tremendously now that the election is around the corner.

Another great tragedy of Peter Obi’s government is the religious tension that he has created in the state. He is practically persecuting
Anglicans and this must change. Our people need to be dealt with not according to their religious belief but with fairness, and merit. The once religious harmony of the state is threatened by Peter Obi’s administration which introduced religious politics in the state.
Why are you so confident that your party will win the November16, governorship election?
The coming election will be a landslide victory for our candidate, Senator (Dr.) Chris Nwabueze Ngige (Onwa) OON.

I have gone round the state, everywhere you go, and it is the same story, “We need this man back, to come and salvage the state.” Ngige’s performance when he was Governor before is our greatest asset.

This is a man who stood firm and made great sacrifices for the people of the state. He endangered his life and that of his family to salvage
Anambra state and liberated it from the clutches of those who held it at ransom. Our candidate, Ngige, is a man that has zero tolerance for low or no quality and corruption. He is an experienced administrator and an astute politician, who gave Anambra state hope and saved them from nightmares, hence he has earned their love and support which no one, no matter the level of
campaign of calumny will take away from him. You earn the people’s respect, love and sincere support; you neither buy nor force it, not even with donations.

Don’t you think the Anambra North people’s agitation and the governor’s support will reduce your party’s chances?

No, not at all, Anambra people want the best. Peter Obi’s Government has not performed and therefore cannot influence who succeeds it.
There is insecurity in the land, there is massive youth unemployment, and the education system is not working. This is the only state where workers do not receive minimum wage. An endorsement from a bad government will amount to nothing. It will be a landslide victory for Senator Ngige of APC. His experience and performance as former governor is our greatest strength. Our people want him. He is the best.
5452 Forum / The Buzz Central / WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Back In Business, D’banj Signs Endorsement Deal With Globacom on: 8-11-2013 10:44 AM

Banger Lee is back in business with the Mike Adenuga led telecom giant with whom he parted ways three years ago. The Pop star has inked his second endorsement deal with the Nigerian telecommunications company after weeks of deliberations, Gistmania has confirmed

Gistmania has reliably confirmed that Dapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo has signed a multi-million Naira brand endorsement deal with Globacom Nigeria.

The Pop star has inked his second endorsement deal with the Nigerian telecommunications company after weeks of deliberations. D’banj now joins the likes of heavyweight contemporary musicians Psquare as well as recently unveiled ambassadors Naeto C, M.I, Lynxxx, Bez, Burna Boy, Flavour, Waje, Omawumi, and little known Chee.

Insiders tell us the deal is ‘unbelievable’; with those familiar with details saying it may be one of the costliest signings of 2013. Exact figures were not immediately available. But Gistmania learnt that just like his former deal with the company, this new ambassadorship will also come with added values, including an automobile, and major performance commitments.

D’banj and Globacom fell out in 2010 when the pop singer reportedly refused to extend his initial 2008 N70M two-year contract. Glo was allegedly offering something less, far less than what Psquare got (the Pop twins signed a whooping N240M with the company in 2010).

The whole trouble had however started back in 2008 when D’banj was replaced by Psquare after he allegedly demanded a N2M fee for every performance at the then GLO Campus Tour.

But it’s three years later and plenty has changed.

With GLO having lost the biggest names to competition, it’s understandable they’re reuniting with D’Banj, a true superstar with credible fan base, despite not having had a major fresh hit in years. And it’s a coup of sorts – as Etisalat had nearly reached an agreement with D’Banj to be one of their brand ambassadors. Etisalat is already in bed with top rappers Ice Prince and Olamide while there are rumours a 2face Idibia deal is also pending.

MTN Nigeria is currently winning the brand ambassadorship war triggered by the recent mobile number portability policy. The market leader has all the star power in their nest with the likes of Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Davido, Iyanya, Tiwa Savage, KCEE and a few other prominent acts all repping ‘yello’.

A rep from GLO ‘Charles’ tells us it is not in his place to talk about the signing. D’banj’s manager and Executive Director of DKM Group Tony Nwakalor did not pick or return our calls.

‘D’banj signed with who?!‘, Spice, a rep for D’banj told our reporter, apparently surprised.

It is expected that GLO will announce the deal in a matter of days.

Actresses Prefer Married Men Because They Are More Caring, Gentler and Wiser Than Single Men – Nollywood Actress, Bose Arowosegbe

Actress Bose Arowosegbe

Bose Arowosegbe, a native of Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State, has come to pitch her tent with the very best in Nollywood. Having started acting in 2003 she shot into limelight in 2008 with her sterling lead role in ‘Kareni Barin’. In this chat Vanguard, the Business Studies graduate of LASPOTECH talks of her sojourn in the movie industry; her beliefs and a lot of other issues.

Excerpts:

How did you find your way into the movie industry?

I didn’t start out as an actress; I started out as a video vixen in 2002 before I was introduced into acting at the insistence of an editor named Jide Bambo. He was involved in movie production and music video production. It was as a result of his influence I veered into acting.

I heard you are now married, when did you marry?

I married May 26, 2013. I have known my husband a long time before we got married. I met him 13 years ago, before I even started acting. I was working then at Tafawa Balewa Square.

As a married woman, can you take up sensual or sex scenes?

Like I said before marriage has limited what role I can play again in films. I cannot take part in a sex scene, real or unreal, either in my production or other productions. And nothing can make me go totally Nood but I can wear seductive dresses because when I am with my husband I still wear them. I can never go Nood or play sex scene but I can be seductive. Before I was married, I wear seductive dresses anywhere but now I only wear them when I am with my husband.

Is it true that Lesbianism also exists in the Yoruba industry?

Yes, you can say that again. I have heard about it and I have seen one with my own very eyes

How so?

It happened when two friends came to visit, then three of us had to share a bed. As we were on the bed with my back turned to the other two, I felt some movements and I turned, alas, the two other girls were at it, doing it. I was simply aghast and dumbfounded. I watched them transfixed for about two minutes and then gave one of them a slap. She looked at me and asked if she had touched me or what. I was so mad that I started shouting at them.

The other one was just laying down while the one I slapped was working on her. She said she didn’t know and thought I was also part of it but I shouted ‘God forbid’. She then started crying and I told her to desist from associating with the other girl again.

Are you a jealous person?

Yes, when it comes to my husband, I am very jealous.

What if you catch him in bed with another woman?

That is the end of the relationship.

But as a jealous woman you would be on set kissing another man, isn’t that unfair?

See, that is why I have to cut off taking up some roles when I got married.

Why are many actresses getting married to married men?

I am married to a married man too. I have not told anyone this before. Other journalists I have met were fed the story that my husband is abroad when he has always been in the country.

Most single men out there are not matured enough to handle the fact that actresses are normal women. They believe we are harlots to be used and dumped. I believe they are too immature to handle the life around us. They are easily affected by things they read and hear about us, and also things they see on screen about us.
But married men are matured to handle all this. They listen to us instead of listening to gist about us. They seem to understand women better. Besides, they are more caring, gentler and wiser.

You just said you are a jealous woman, how then can you share your man with another woman?

Because I knew he was married before I decided to marry him. It was my decision and I knew what I was walking into. Before I made up my mind I knew the price I was to pay and how I have to adapt to that. I have decided to share with the woman inside not anyone outside.

Look at the case of Funke Akindele, why is it that actresses don’t seem to last long in a marriage?

See, it depends on the man you are dealing with. If he is the type that understands you, he won’t be looking out for rumours about you. As a lady, you must let your man understand the kind of person you are. So, when he hears things about you he understands you without your having to explain anything. Again, when you are married you must steer clear of some things you used to do.

Like in the case of Funke Akindele, I don’t think the problem came from Funke. I don’t know much of the story but I heard Funke’s husband had impregnated another lady. Even if he had, there is a way he could have gone about it instead of going public to rubbish her name because she’s a star. I hate that man for that. Funke is my friend.

5459 Forum / Sports / Mourinho sees improvement in fitter striker, Eto'o on: 7-11-2013 04:48 PM

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has backed striker Samuel Eto'o to continue improving as he gets fitter following a slow start to his Blues career.

Eto'o, who joined from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer, scored twice in the 3-0 win over Schalke in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Mourinho said: "It was not a surprise for me that he arrived not in the best conditions after two years in Anzhi.

"Now step by step he is going. He is 32 but he's a fit, slim guy."

The Portuguese coach added: "He's not a heavy body. He's intelligent, of course, and I think goals give confidence.

"My favourite players are the players that win matches for me, not the ones that lose matches for me.

"Samuel worked with me in the best season of my career (at Inter). We won everything. So he's in a good position."

The Cameroon striker looked sluggish when he first arrived at Stamford Bridge and came in for some criticism as he managed only one goal - against Cardiff - in his first six games.

Mourinho feels that was down to a lack of competition while Eto'o played for Anzi, who he joined from Italian giants Inter in 2011.

"He was for two years playing without big motivations and when you play without big motivations, you train without big motivations and you lose condition, and you lose sharpness, and you lose even appetite," said the Chelsea boss. Eto'o, who joined from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer, scored twice in the 3-0 win over Schalke in the Champions League on Wednesday.
