These are s*x and access to my two children. “Her mother indirectly runs our home because she takes orders from her, but flouts every instruction I give her. As a result of this, I feel inadequate as a man. I can’t tolerate this anymore. Please, separate us and give me custody of the children.”The plaintiff gave details of his wife’s misbehavior. “I got married to my wife eight years ago and for those years, she refused to work. I got her a job through the help of my boss, but she refused to resume work on the stipulated day,” he said. “She denied me s*x. Any night I demanded s*x, she would tell me her mother told her to pray throughout that night or attend a vigil in her church. I encouraged her to enroll for a part time Higher Diploma Degree (HND) course, but she failed to complete the program. “She made me believe she was nearly through with the course and that she was working on her project which she collected N90,000 for from me. She lied concerning the project for more than two years. The truth was finally revealed when my friend who lectures in her school helped me to check her result. “He told me she performed woefully in all her courses and that she was not working on any project. I reported her to her mother who took side with her. Her mum told me she never offered her daughter’s hand to me in marriage. She added that she was already engaged to someone who fared better than I did. “I told her she shouldn’t have taken the food items and money my family members presented to her and her husband during our traditional wedding. “My lord, my wife, and her mother told me I have no claim on our children because they are not mine. She later moved out of my home with the children and took my belongings like deep freezer, watching machine, mattresses among others along with her. “She called my father some few days back and threatened to deal with him if he refused to restrain me from coming to court,“ he told the court. Meanwhile, the defendant failed to show up in court after being served court summon twice, and the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade, after he had listened to the plaintiff adjourned the case till September 7, for judgment. | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Bizarre! The Federal Government Of Philippines Ban Women From Wearing High Heel Shoes |
on: 25-08-2017 03:05 PM
| The Federal Government of the Philippines, through its labor department, on Friday, issued an order banning private companies from demanding female employees to wear high-heeled shoes at work. According to a labor group that proposed the new directive, the order makes the Philippines the first country in Asia to ban the mandatory wearing of high heels in the workplace. “We hope that the regulation will also be copied and applied for the benefit of workers in the entire Asia region,” said Alan Tanjusay, a spokesman for the Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP). “With this regulation, millions of Filipino (workers) … will now be freed from the bondage of unsafe and dangerous working conditions,” he added. Labour Secretary Silvestre Bello said the guidelines would take effect next month and was based on a study by a task force created following ALU-TUCP’s proposal. “We noticed how sales ladies, for example, look very tired after standing all day in heels,” he said. “You can tell there is a feeling of inconvenience or they are uncomfortable.” Bello said the department has not received any negative feedback about the order during consultations. Under the department’s guidelines, companies can no longer require women to wear shoes with heels more than 1 inch in height as part of the dress code at work. | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Sad! Girl Dies On Her 21st Birthday After Drinking Half Bottle Of Jack Daniels |
on: 25-08-2017 02:39 PM
| A fashion student died on her 21st birthday after drinking half a bottle of Jack Daniels and choking on her own vomit in a Thai restaurant. Narinthorn Alexander was found unconscious in the toilet of Thai Tho in Soho, central London, after telling friends she was not feeling well. She later suffered a cardiac arrest and was in a coma for six days before her life machine support was turned off. An inquest into her death found that none of the staff at the Thai restaurant could perform first aid and the student did not receive any until police officers arrived on the scene. However, coroner Mary Hassell ruled that the amount of Jack Daniels she had consumed played a significant role in her death. She said: ‘What underlies all of this is alcohol, I’m afraid.’ Miss Alexander, who was born in Thailand, was studying at the University of West London. She turned 21 on March 9 and celebrated her birthday with her boyfriend and six other friends later that week. Friends told the inquest that they saw nothing wrong with the fashion student and that she was enjoying herself. A close friend said: ‘When the food did arrive she did have a tiny bit to eat. She was starting to feel a bit tipsy. ‘It got to the point where she came over and whispered in my ear and said, ”I’m going to the toilet, I will be right back”. The friend later revealed the moment Miss Alexander was found in the toilet. She said: ‘She was not responding at all — I had never seen her like that. Her friend was holding her head up… I was shaking her.’After starting chest compressions paramedics inspected Miss Alexander’s airwaves and found that ‘quite large chunks of chicken’ were causing a ‘significant airways obstruction.’ Narinthorn Alexander’s cause of death was given as a hypoxic brain injury and cardiac arrest, asphyxiation vomitus and alcohol toxicity. | | |

| This is the shocking video which has shown the moment a motorcyclist came off his bike and fell into the path of an oncoming van. The 50-year-old, who police said was an experienced rider, died at the scene of the crash near Goodwood in Chichester, West Sussex. The footage shows the moment he attempted a wheelie on his Suzuki bike – but he lost control and was thrown off the vehicle. Sussex Police has released the footage with the support of the victim’s family in a bid to warn bikers of the dangers of irresponsible riding. Sergeant Phil Badman said: ‘This video is intended to show what can happen when you are not fully in control of your bike. ‘Motorbikes are powerful machines and they should be treated as such, as failing to do so can lead to devastating consequences. ‘The victim was an experienced rider who had enjoyed numerous outings with fellow bikers prior to this incident. ‘He and his friends were all wearing the appropriate clothing and safety equipment, and no one anticipated that this ride would be his last. ‘It was undoubtedly a hugely traumatic experience for all parties involved, and our thoughts remain with them.’ Motorcyclists account for 20% of all road deaths in the UK despite making up just 1% of traffic. | | |

| Malik Ado-Ibrahim, chairman of Nigus Enfinity, an indigenous firm, made it known to journalists in Abuja that the company will introduce electric vehicles into the Nigerian automobile market in 2018 and that its local assembly plant for electric vehicles will be ready in 2020. Ado-Ibrahim said several countries across the world have set targets for the ban of petrol-fuelled vehicles with India targeting 2030, and the United Kingdom, 2040, therefore, Nigeria and Africa need to be at the fore of the automotive revolution or risk becoming waste bin for banned vehicles from other countries. According to him, the company has also partnered with Build Your Dreams (BYD), a Chinese firm, to import electric vehicles at affordable costs from 2018, The Cable reports. “We are also working with BYD to get a local brand and start an electric vehicle assembly plant for Nigeria from 2020. Gradually we will move to an EV with the African DNA starting in Nigeria,” he said. Ado-Ibrahim also confirmed his firm is already building a 100 megawatts (mw) solar power plant in Katsina and Adamawa state.
