The actress cum producer recently got married to Nigerian rapper, Abdul Rasheed Bello also known as JJC Skillz in London, after her failed marriage to her first husband, Kehinde Almaro of Oloyede.

While JJC Skillz has four children from different women, Funke is yet to have her own child.

Funke who is the producer of, Jenifa’s Diary, in a statement on her Facebook page, urged fans to pray she conceived and delivered safely in her new home.

A cross-section of parents whose children and wards are seeking admission into the Ekiti State University, (EKSU), Ado Ekiti have sent passionate appeal to the institution’s authorities to thread softly on the issue of pre-admission screenings and payments.

Some of the concerned parents, who spoke to reporters on Thursday in Ado Ekiti lamented the repeated screening exercises introduced by the authorities in relation to the 2016/2017 admission exercise.

Those who spoke to newsmen accused the university of conducting separate screening exercises for the prospective students, with each of the screening attracting as much as N5,600, despite the ban placed on such screening by the Federal government.

According to Mrs Afeniforo Emmanuel, the University, three weeks ago screened candidates who possessed the prescribed minimum UTME scores as well as met the required minimum of five credit pass, including English Language and Mathematics.

According to her, “a sum of N5,600 was paid to the prescribed banks for the exercise; I thought that the next was for her ward to be offered or denied admission.”

She said she was shocked to discover that having sailed through the initial screening, her child was again last week invited to another round of screening exercise and asked to pay another N5,600.

Another parent, Mr Kunle Adeyemi said it took the intervention of the institution’s students’ union body to get the authorities of the university to reduce the second screening fee to N3,100, inclusive of bank charges.

A disabled parent, Mrs kafayat Folaranmi called on JAMB to intervene in their plight since the warning against extortion in the name of post-UTME screening came since July.

Meanwhile, going through the list, a newly admitted student is required to pay a minimum of N80,000, in addition to minimum of N50,000 acceptance fee, as against total payment of N50,000 recommended by the state government.

All efforts to get the institution’s PRO, Olubumi Ajibade for a reaction to the allegations were abortive as calls put across to him were not responded to.

Igbo leaders and the Hausa/Fulani community in Abia State on Friday came together to sign a deal for peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

This is coming at a time of heightened tension and separatist pressures across the country in the wake of deadly attacks by armed Fulani herdsmen and a perceived sense of alienation particularly in the southeast.

It will be recalled that violent clashes between both ethnic groups in May left several dead while a number of Igbos have been killed in religious violence in the north.

The accord was signed at a Town Hall meeting at the Police Officer’s Mess in Umuahia to complete peace initiatives of the state government through the committee on herdsmen and farmers conflict resolution.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the State Commissioner of Police, Adeleye Oyebade hailed the deal as timely and in the interest of everyone.

“The unity of this country is paramount and not negotiable,”he said.
“Just as the herdsmen have the right to migrate to any part of the country, the law does not allow the destruction of another’s property/farm.The same way, communities should not kill the cows in reprisal but should take the proper channel of conflict resolution, including dialogue and reporting to security agencies.”

Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, speaking on the governor’s behalf said the committee was set up to foster unity between the two communities and prevent clashes between farmers and herdsmen.

This commendable initiative has come after the Hausa and Igbo communities in Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State came together Monday to fight vice and crime in the region and foster peaceful coexistence.

Popular Nollywood producer, Emem Isong, has addressed the allegations that male producers demand for sex from up and coming female actresses in the industry.

The script writer told Encomium, “I don’t know anything about that. I am not saying it does not exist, but I wouldn’t know what can be done.

Emem also shared her thoughts on the notion that the industry is collapsing.

A 43-year-old man,Gafar Hamza,who was arrested for having sex with his 20-year-old daughter and getting her pregnant, has told operatives of the Oyo State Police Command that he could not have been the one responsible for the pregnancy of the lady because he slept with her only four times.

Hamza reportedly told the police that his  daughter was also sleeping with her boyfriends and that they are the ones that should be held responsible for the four months old pregnancy his daughter is carrying.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, Hamza who is a night guard, was arrested when a neighbour reported the atrocity to the police after he and his wife discovered that the lady was pregnant and on interrogation, she mentioned her fatheras the culprit.

A surgeon has reportedly been dismissed after he mistakenly cut off a man’s testicle and tried to cover it up by telling the victim that the specimen was small.

Dr Marwan Farouk made the blunder during a surgery meant to repair a hernia and remove a cyst from his patient at the private BMI Chiltern Hospital in Buckinghamshire, london.

The reports reveal that Dr Farouk removed the entire right section of the patient’s testicle, asking the theatre staff to dispose of it, but refused to tell the victim.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2016, the medical Practitioners Tribunal Service ruled that Farouk had been misleading and dishonest, adding:

As an experienced surgeon, even on a cursory examination, you must have recognized the specimen for what it was.
This was a series of deliberate acts designed by you to cover up the fact you had made an error.

Dr Farouk reportedly ordered theatre staff to “chuck” the specimen or words to that effect, before he discarded it in the scraps bin.

To make matters worse, during a post-operative consultation with the patient whose identity has been withheld, on April 30, 2014, Dr Farouk attempted to cover his mistakes by telling him:

“You have a small right testicle but it won’t give you any problems.”
