The sale of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s stake in national teleco firms, NITEL and Mtel, is not going down well with the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers (NAA).

In a recent letter to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the Auctioneers association appealed to the Federal Government to probe the proceedings of the sale of government's stakes to private investors.

The appeal to revisit the sale proceedings was made by the national president of the association, Aliyu Kiliya, in Bauchi.

Kiliya expressed the association’s dismay that despite the directive given by the Federal High Court that the status quo be maintained, the NATCOM Company Limited has taken over the disposal of all NITEL and MTEL assets nationwide.
