There was mild drama at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Friday, when scores of passengers protested the failure of an airline to airlift them to their destinations.
Flights to Warri, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna and Port Harcourt airports were delayed for several hours by the airline without clear reasons, which led to passengers requesting for the refunds of their airfares in annoyance.

Among the stranded passengers were the Editor of the Guardian, Debo Adesina , infants, women and foreigners who claimed that they had been at the airport as early as between 7.00 a.m and 12 noon.
According to the passengers, some of them were given boarding passes by the airline, but as at 5:25p.m they were unsure of their departures to their destinations.
It was gathered that none of the flights of the airline had departed the airport as at the time of filing in this report by 6.00p.m.
The airline's inability to get aviation fuel for its operations was one of the likely reasons it could not airlift the passengers.
The passengers of the airline to Warri Airport, who ought to have departed at 11:45a.m, did not know when they would be airlifted by the airline as they said officials of the airlines declined to communicate with them.
One of the passengers of the airline to Warri, Mr. Mike Alege, lamented that he had been at the airport as early as 7a.m for the 11:45a.m flight. He added that the airline issued the boarding passes at 8:30a.m but was surprised that he could still not depart the airport as at 5.30p.m.
Alege, who requested that his airfare be refunded to him, was told by the airline's management that it was preparing to depart for Warri in few minutes.
He said: "I have been here since 7.00 a.m and unfortunately, I have not been able to get to my destination. I was supposed to go to Warri for an appointment today, but they have scuttled my plans. It is unfortunate that this is happening.
"The excuse they gave us was that they have not been able to get fuel from fuel marketers due to its scarcity, but they have kept us in the dark since morning. The only thing I want from them now is a refund ," he stated.
Another passenger of the airline to Port Harcourt, who refused to disclose her identity, said that she was billed to sit for an examiination in Port Harcourt at 2.00 p.m, but as at 5:30 p.m, she was still stranded at the Lagos airport.
However, all attempts to reach the Media Officer of the airline, Mr. Banji Ola, proved abortive as he did not respond to the calls made to his mobile phones by some journalists.
