Sure i understand the economy was good...but not all the people of Libya was happy with the way he was ruling trust me.....Gadafi is a bad dictators if you must know he is an under ground lion...do you know how many Libya citizens has been killed and tortured??...Westerners supporting the Rebels knew what they are doing....they did the best thing for the Libya people and the people should moved onn and make the country a better one.....Look at all the Gadafi family they are the one controlling the country...from the top to the last offices in Libya are control by just one Family..is that a human right or just greed?Huh???....Gadafi has a way of doing things..when he give you good today tomorrow he give you the worst of life....anyway is his choice but he made a big mistake by staying there for too long.....

Point of correction Abby18, South Africa also pays social security but of cause you cannot compare it with Libya as they don't have vast oil reserves. Gadhaffi already sold Lybia's oil, his refineries are all over EUROPE. H even paid with it to free the former accused Lockerbie bomber and he still remunerated the bereaved families of the bombing. Gadhaffi's plight can be blamed solely on not reforming his country and acknowledging  that this is another century. Times to rule by force or rule a country like your house has long gone, Africans are redefining their future, whether for better or worse. The state or stage where Africa is now is exactly where the West was 100 years ago and gradually things will change but of cause it comes with a heavy price tag.

gadafi was a gud person cus he made life easy for d libya  compared to we nigerians,bt every one of us as a weakness, his weakness was d overstay on the seat;.
I don't see that as weakness at all. political practice should be based on the right principle irrespective of the system. Gadafi followed right principle to govern his people.

Thank u jare.... U re one of only few who knew what's happening..  Others are follow follow.   One get to see so many comments here blaming the west for Gaddafi's down fall and i ask... At what stage did the west decided to intervene in Libya?  Or was it the west who started the protest that consequently lead to the revolution we witness in Libya?  One thing is sure. There is a limit to what the human patience can take...... when u push someone too hard against the wall he/she eventually gets to react no matter how gentle the person might be.
