In a startling revelation on social media, a Nigerian man identified as Alex Oluwatobi has shared CCTV footage capturing the brazen theft of his friend's phone at a restaurant in Woking, United Kingdom.
Taking to his social media handle, Oluwatobi posted the video, exposing the moment when a woman, accompanied by an accomplice, allegedly stole the phone. The suspects purportedly posed as beggars to execute their plan.
"Always stay alert, never let your guard down; whether at home or abroad, thieves are everywhere," Oluwatobi cautioned in his post.
Detailing the incident, he recounted how the suspects feigned as beggars, gaining proximity to his friend. However, within minutes, his friend realized his phone was missing, prompting suspicions of foul play.
"This happened to my friend in a restaurant in Woking. They pretended to be beggars. He shouldn’t have allowed them to come near him, but perhaps he thought 'this is abroad, nothing can happen.' After 10 minutes, he felt light-headed, and his body became heavy, signaling that something was amiss," Oluwatobi narrated.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and caution, regardless of location, amid rising cases of theft and scams.
