Suspected herdsmen have reportedly macheted to death a pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ward 10 in Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Elder Francis Amamosa.
The incident occurred in Amamosa’s farm.m, near the railway line in Okpe quarters, Abavo.
It was also gathered that the suspected herdsmen abducted two other persons from the scene of incident.
It was learnt that the suspected herdsmen allegedly attacked the deceased and ordered him out of his farm in an attempt to abduct him.
Anamosa was aid to have resisted the kidnappers, following which the gun-toting herdsmen reportedly opened fire at him.
It was also gathered that when the bullets failed to penetrate the politician, the assailants resorted to the use of a machete to inflict cuts on him until he died.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe is yet to pick calls or reply to SMS and WhatsApp messages sent to him for confirmation.
