The group under the aegis of South-South Youth Leaders Forum and Association of Ethnic Nationalities in Niger Delta said the refusal of Northern Governors, Islamic and political leaders to dissociate themselves from the activities of Boko Haram is indicative of support for the Islamic Fundamentalist.
The group in a joint statement signed by Ambassador Amachree Odiedim and Mike Udofia said Boko Haram has become the antics of disgruntled politicians in the North to take over power and to frustrate the present administration.
The group particularly condemned the silence of the North over Boko Haram threat to the life of President Jonathan.
“…At this point state that we shall vehemently and very violently resist any attempt to harm the person or office of President Goodluck Jonathan, and shall come out in full force to fight all agents aimed at ridiculing his regime and return violence to the door steps of such persons or group.”
