Well mabe its difficult to meet gay Nigerians just like its difficult to meet gay Iranians! President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, 6th president of Iran says there is no such thing as a gay Iranian. Such ignorance in one charged with governance of a country is astounding and a cause for real worry.  Despite all the advances of human knowledge there is still such incredible ignorance out there.  The fact that gay Iranians are so invisible probably has something to do with the fact that if you are openly gay in Iran you end up being stoned or tortured to death before the baying mob! My souces tell me that its very dangerous also  to be gay in Nigeria.  In fact, of the Nigerians who have come to live in Ireland, many of them tend to be homophobic and we have to go through a process of inculturation, of introducing them to the values of the country in which they have come to live.  There are also those who come to Europe to escape the homophobia of their native land and to be able to live in freedom and peace.  Here they have a hope to developing a long term relationship with a member of their own sex.  This, of course, is part of the civilizing mission of modern Europe to the world and something of which we are justifiably proud.  We have learned, from bitter experience, that tolerance is the way forward to a  happy co-existence.  It is good to be Gay! I hope that the people of Nigeria will be able, in time, to move to a deeper understanding of this issue.  However, the fact the the country's population is equally divided between Islam and Christian is a problem.  The Islamics hold the Christians back from facing the truth because if the christians adopt a more understanding approach to gay people then they will lose ground to Islam.   This is always the way when sides are polarized.  We can only hope that a charismatic leader will emerge for the people of Nigeria who will be able to chart a way forward.  My feeling is that, for Nigeria, this is a long way off.  Gay Nigerians will continue to suffer needlessly long into the future.   Unfortunately, gay sex is not the only way that Nigerians try to scam money. Honey, manty Nigerians  would promise you the sun, moon and stars if they could only sniff at your wallet!  It is a Nigerian national malaise, just as drink is the national malaise of the Irish.   However, that does not remove from the Nigerians the fact that there are some very delicous hunks among them.  Oh how those beautiful bodies make me swoon!!!  Grin   So Gay Nigerians, keep your chins up, hope for better things and be safe! May the force be with you!

Not truly so..it just depends on the individual, Some of them are really afraid to come out to their family and friends, fearing that they will be rejected and ridiculed by the society, so instead they keep it a secret. But for the ones that are out of the closet, they do have clubs and groups they belong to.

tas right
