Take Buhari’s comment as a challenge to sit up, ANPP tells Jonathan

The national chairman of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP), Christopher Ogbonnaya Onu on Thursday criticized how the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led government is handling the affairs of the nation.

The ANPP leader, at a news conference in Abuja on sundry issues in the country, asked the president not to forget his oath of sincerity and justice, as he tackles the case involving the re-instatement of the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami as recommended by the National Judicial Council.

Mr Onu, who emphasized the importance of preserving the integrity of the judiciary reminded the government to take comments made by former Head of State, General Mohammadu Buhari as a challenge to sit up and confront national issues doggedly.

According to the chairman, increase in electricity tariff, insecurity and infrastructural decay are not signs of the transformation promised to Nigerians.

D'banj is a success story no doubt and he has really done well for himself. By teaming up with Kanye West, I knew he would go places and this is just the beginning for him. What I don't really like is the belief that Nigerians have to return home before they can make it in life. D'banj is just one of out of every 1000 Nigerians that returned to Nigeria from Europe and America and subsequently made it. There are many Nigerians who returned home from Europe and are worse off in Africa. So it is all down to divine favour and destiny. There are Nigerians who are successful in the UK but they don't make any noise. You don't get to know about them until you meet them at very important events. D'banj is an entertainer, so he's got to promote himself. The ITV News Report is part of promoting his music in the UK. That is how Artistes roll. You can become successful anywhere you are even in the UK. It is all down to your vision. Tunde Baiyewu of the Lighthouse Family and Chimamanda Adichie are great examples of what I'm talking about. Chimamanda Adichie spends half of the year living in the USA while Baiyewu lives in England. He was born in the UK. Cheers.

You have Your all your Degrees, Master or PhD there and You can get a good job

You do  all kinds of terrible labour fit only for the nobodies in the places abroad

See the opportunities back home with a BIG DARK EYE GLASSES like D'BAnJ and exploit those!

Your little is alway big here in Naija and we can appreciate U for the world to see U

I WHOLEY AGREE WITH YOU IN WHAT YOU HAVE STATED ABOVE.BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I WANT YOU TO LOOK INTO THIS FROM A DIFFERENT ANGLE. LIKE YOU SAID, THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES BACK HOME AND D'BANJ AND HIS LIKES HAVE PROVEN THIS TO MANY OF US THAT FEELS THE WESTERN IS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE AND A PLACE FOR SURVIVAL. DID YOU ASK YOURSELF HOW MANY PEOPLE HAS GOT THIS TALENT LIKE THAT OF D'BANJ AND HIS LIKES?? IS IT EVERYONE OF US IN THE UK THAT  HAS GOT MUSIC TALENT OR OTHERWISE.? THE SAME NIGERIA YOU ARE  TALKING ABOUT THAT THERE ARE  LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES OUT THERE, HOW MANY WORKFORCE HAS BEEN RENDERED JOBLESS BY OUR BANKING INDUSTRIES IN THE  LAST 5 MONTHS?? HOWEVER, YOU DON'T EXPECT A REASONABLE PERSON TO TRAVEL BACK HOME WHEN HE/SHE HAS NOTHING TO BEGIN WITH OVER THERE. MOST PEOPLE WANT TO GO BACK TO THIS SAME NIGERIA WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BUT THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE SOMETHING DOING OVER THERE AND THIS IS WHILE YOU SEE SO MANY PEOPLE APPLYING FOR JOBS ONLINE. WE SHOULD TAKE AN INSTANCE FROM THE LAST INTERNATIONAL JOB FARE  IN THE UK 2 WEEKS AGO. IT TOOK PLACE AT THE HILTON HOTEL IN CANARY WALF. DO YOU KNOW THE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE THAT CAME  OVER? THAT IS A POINTER TO LET YOU KNOW THAT MANY NIGERIANS WANT TO GO BACK HOME , BUT THEY WANT TO BE SURE OF A READY JOB BEFORE THEY LEAVE. AT TIMES IS NOT AS EASY AS WE SAY IT THAT WE SHOULD ALLL GO BACK HOME AND ALL THAT.BUT WHEN IT COMES TO REALITY, YOU WILL FIGURE OUT THE FACTS IN IT. MY ADVICE IS THIS, FOR THOSE THAT HAVE GOT THE TALENT TO BECOME A HIP STAR, POP STAR OR WHATEVER, NIGERIA IS VIRGIN MARKET THAT HAS A SPEEDY GROWTH IN THAT AREA AND AS SUCH I WILL ADVICE THEY LINK THEMSELVES WILL OUR SUCCESSFUL STARS IN NIGERIA AND THEY WILL TAKE IT FROM THERE. (2) FOR THOSE WITH DEGREE, THEY SHOULD KEEP DOING THE ONLINE JOB HUNTING AND WHEN THEY SECURE A JOB THEY CAN GO BACK TO NIGERIA. (3) FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY OF GOING TO SCHOOL BUT THEY MADE THEIR WAYS TO THE WESTERN PART OF THE WORLD,I WILL ADVICE YOU GUYZ SHOULD REMAIN WHERE YOU ARE  BECAUSE GOING TO NIGERIA IS A ZERO PLAN BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SURVIVE ON THE TYPE OF JOB YOU WILL FIND.ONLY ON ONE CONDITION I CAN ADVICE SUCH PERSONS TO RELOCATE AND THAT IS ,IF HE/SHE HAS GOT A TALENT THAT WILL FIT HIM/HER INTO THE FOLOWING INDUSTRIES... MUSIC, COMEDY, MOVIE. IF NOT..MAKE UNA SIT DOWN FOR WHERE UNA DEY.

This is a wake up call to all Naija Guys who believe coming home is going to hell even though life is not the best it can be for them abroad.

Come back with all the experience and exposure and do something in Naija cos there are still many things undone in Naija unlike abroad where all have been done again and again

Naija beacons U!

Guy, i feel u!!! Do u know dat not less than 100,000 NIGERIANS have nothing doing in SOUTH AFRICA, not to talk in other parts of d WORLD. Even, some don't have money for TICKETS to return HOME. and OTHERS are ashamed to COME back home.
