A couple, a pregnant woman and her husband died on Sunday night, after being crushed by an articulated lorry on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Mr and Mrs Onyedikachi were on a motorbike popularly called okada when they were crushed by the vehicle at Boluwaji area.
Oluyole unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sanya Adeoye, who confirmed the incident, said efforts were made to take the deceased to the University College Hospital (UCH) but they died before any medical attention could be given to them.
According to him, the accident involved a freightliner trailer with registration number XA 620 GRK and a motorcycle Boxer BM 100 with registration number QE463 LND.
He said four persons were involved in the accident; three male adults and one female adult, adding that two persons were killed.
He gave the cause of the accident as speed violation and obstruction on the part of the driver of the articulated lorry.
Adeoye said that the corpses of the deceased had been deposited at the Adeoyo Hospital morgue while the driver of the lorry had been handed over to the police.
