England or Italy is next on the chopping block for Germany. I’m predicting England will be the team the Germans tangle with next.
They will meet one of those two teams in the semifinals, and though I believe England could give the Germans a tougher match, in the end, I can’t even see Wayne Rooney and company stopping Germany.
They just have too many weapons, and their balance of physicality and athleticism on defense is notable. Mesuit Ozuil was the Man of the Match, despite not scoring a goal. His presence wreaked havoc against the Greek defense and he created opportunities with his pressure.
Germany vs. Greece
Germany dominated Greece with Miroslav Klose, scoring one of the four goals. Head man, Joachim Low, used a nice variety of players to keep a fresh and constant attack on Greece’s defense.
It showed Germany’s depth, and it has to make their next and future opponents a little wary. Who do you key in on against this team?
Klose has scored four goals in Euro 2012, but now the Germans have proven to have an array of capable threats. As for defense, per ESPN, Greece did not have a touch in Germany’s penalty area in the first half.
Germany were the favorites coming in to Euro 2012, and they are proving they deserved that tag.
