We set out from Park N’ Shop, Ph/Aba Rd, @ 11.15am after waiting endlessly for other members of the visit who promised to attend but failed to show up.
In less than twenty minutes, we were at the COMPASSION CENTRE HOME, NKPOGU, TRANS-AMADI, PH, managed by THE RELIGIOUS SISTERS OF CHARITY; We were welcomed by Rev Sister Chioma Eze & Madam Maria. They took our brief and quickly took us round the home; we were welcomed with a beautiful song by the children, after-which they were given words of encouragement. Madam Maria explained they presently accommodate more than 40 people from 3-18yrs. The children had varying forms of challenges, Majority of them are not physically fit. We weren’t able to meet with all the kids, because they went for their end of term party in School. Sis PAULINE explained they also have children whose legs are Amputed and are yet to recover from the surgery they had recently. In all we were taken round to see different accommodations as provided for residents of the home. The home is headed by Sister Pauline (Superior) we took a few shots of Photographs for Naijapals diary.
In an hour, our visit to the first home was over, and we set out for the second home; LIFETIME CARING FOUNDATION @ 19 Peace crescent, Woji new Layout, Port-Harcourt. We arrived the Lifetime Caring foundation at about 1.15pm, welcomed by the Home Matron Mrs. Nassra, Nenor Dee Bariagara & pastor peter N. Mark. The matron took our brief and we were welcomed with a beautiful song by the Children. The home is a fairly expansive facility for children who never knew Bosom milk or saw the face of their parents, and they currently accommodate more than 60 children from 0-18 years. We also were not able to meet with all the kids, as they also went for their end of term party in school. Rev Ambassador lucky Abadan gave a brief history of the home also available on www.lifetimecaringfoundation.org . The children are indeed well taken care of more in ACCRA, GHANA where they have their main office, of which Ph’s branch is just an Annex that was established in 2006. The home is headed by Rev Ambassador Lucky Abadan.
The Lifetime caring foundation accommodates children without deformities. We also took photograph for Naijapals Diary. In all, the visits were a success and we earned commendation for the endeavor. We feel fulfilled with the joy evident on the faces of those we met, and shared 'NAIJAPAL'S package’ with. The visit was a success with 6 members of Naijapals ( Sophiebaby, Wallas, Pamoses, Tutu24, Nkenke, & Jessymic)
