Why do men hide profiles from their partner? is it to protect partner from scam

I am in a 2 year online relationship. we both live in different countries. his hidden profiles are distroying me and our relationship. am sad

Thank you so much for your reply. I love this guy so much but I am feeling very hurt and can't understand some of his explanations as to why he has these hidden profiles. He has a profile on netlog and says he cannot delete it. He has yahoo profiles and fb profiles. One with 3 friends and i know for sure one friend is a young girl cause he accidentlly called her but i received the call instead. I know the answer to my question but i feel weak to leave him. I am confused and hurt
