As in Lone Ranger (the Native American companion of The Lone Ranger) a popular American Western character created by George.Tonto, "fool" and "wild one" are sufficiently close in meaning. In Wikipedia "ke-mo sah-bee", explaining that the phrase means "faithful scout" in the language of his tribe. But in Spanish Tonto means "fool". But it was not that meaning that was intended by the producers of the show. While in Portuguese, Italian the word "Tonto" means "fool" or "idiot" (although this appears to have been a coincidence as the character is depicted as intelligent) In some Spanish speaking countries, he was named "Toro", which means "bull".
