Most statistical information can be considered a suspect as most are designed and presented to suit a particular agenda. Organizations and Governments all around the world are known to have manipulated data to achieve a given objective. All one can say it is a good attempt by this authors, but whether it is necessary it is a different matter, Majority of Nigerians don’t need this to know the level of poverty in the north of the country.Is high time we started asking ourselves the very seed that gave birth to the poverty in the North.Poverty in the north is not GEJ’s making but the northern elites- their selfishness in amassing wealth at the expense of their pple is at the root cause of their poverty & backwardness. Second, how come the richest black man on earth- Dangote, a northern, gave birth to only 3 children while a mere gworo seller marry as many as 3 wives & born as many as 20-30 without considering his financial status. Why won’t there be poverty.Poverty in the north is north made poverty.period!
