A friend approached me and told me he wants to get married to his girlfriend because he believes she's his wife because of the strong chemistry between them. The fact of the matter is that compatibility and chemistry is not the same, although they compliment each other. Compatibility can lead to chemistry but chemistry does not always lead to compatibility. First of all chemistry is ruled by the law of physical attractions as navigated by infatuations. Hers's an example; you start dating someone because of how pretty or handsome and sexy they look, and your romance and sex life with each other is great. This is what a lot of people consider as strong chemistry and before you lnow it, they start proposing to each other for marriage. Compatibility on the other hand is much deeper than chemistry because it goes beyond the physical shallows of chemisrty into the deeper intrinsic personality qualities that compliments each other. Chemistry is great for dating relationships, but for a happy long lasting marriage relationship, you have to trascend beyond the shallows of physical attractions (chemistry) into the intrinsic world of personal qualities and values that compliments both personalities. Okay naijapals, here's the question? Does the presence of a strong chemistry between a man and a woman make them compatible with each other for marriage?

Capital NO! What happens when the "chemistry" feeling dies? Like one of my sisters will say, when u feel gish gish ap2wards ur spous. Love transceeds segxwal feelings (that's where chemistry always lead to). While chemistry doesn't tk note of a spous' fault initially, compatibility sees d fault and adapt or mould with love, so when the relationship grows love keep and hold it. When chemistry dies in a relationship, it takes only love and the fear of God for that relationship to stand!

Thanks for your excellent contribution. Great articulation!! The presence of chemistry between a man and a woman is good but that alone is not enough for a successful marriage. Love built only on body chemistry will eventually fade with time and circumstance. Compatibility is love built with understanding, respect and compromise.

i am a chemist by profession. u see, some times, chemical reactions tend to yield undesirable results, while sometimes it does. this issue all depends on God's grace on one's life and not man's philosophy.
