Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of ingratitude and unfairness. He also accused the President of concentrating more on developing South-South, while ignoring developmental problems in the rest of the country. Specifically, the governor, expressed displeasure over the way he was being treated by the party in spite of the sacrifices he made to ensure the President’s victory during the PDP primaries and the 2011 presidential election.
Speaking through his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mallam Ahmad Sajo, the governor said he ensured the President’s success in 2011. He said, “President Jonathan has been ungrateful to Governor Murtala Nyako. In the first instance, you should understand that during the nominations, Jonathan contested with a son of Adamawa State.
“If he (Jonathan) won Adamawa State, the governor swam against the tides. Immediately after that, they started sending him (the governor) text messages, calling him a kafir (infidel), dan wuta (hell bound son) and all that. They said he backed a Christian against Muslims; he went through all that humiliation. At the federal elections, Nuhu Ribadu is a son of Adamawa. Nyako worked for Jonathan to defeat Ribadu, another son of Adamawa in the general elections. How would they have expected to win Adamawa in a landslide? When after the defeat of Atiku, he was aggrieved, they did not pacify him. “He came back here and moved all his acolytes into Labour Party, including the person they are using today as the so-called chairman of the PDP, who was the governorship candidate of the Labour Party. “We also had Nuhu Ribadu, who is from this state. If for nothing, at least, he had brothers, sisters and other relatives to support him and yet, Jonathan won. “It doesn’t matter whether he won convincingly or not, he won at the expense of sons and daughters of Adamawa.”
On his dispute with the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, Nyako said that the PDP was on a path of self-destruction. He said, “What we are saying is that a political party is a free association of people of like minds. “And there are always ground rules for running a political party. When you refuse to abide by the ground rules, you tend to destroy the association. What we are saying is that the rate the party is moving, it will surely kill itself. Don’t forget that in the past four months (March, April, June and July), they have set up different reconciliation committees but they have been unable to reconcile because of the bottom line. The party is not interested in protecting the rights of everybody.

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS UNGRATEFUL AND EVEN MORE UNGRATEFUL. AFTER BECOMING A GOVERNOR FROM 1976-1977 AND BECOMING THE CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF IN 1988 AND RETIRED AS A VICE ADMIRAL. AFTER ALL THE MONEY YOU STOLE THEN IN GOVERNMENT AND LOOTED PROPERTIES, YET YOU STILL HUNGER FOR POWER BY GOING INTO POLITICS AND YOU RIGGED THE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION TO BECOMING THE GOVERNOR OF ADAMAWA STATE AND STEALING MORE MONEY FROM GOVERNMENT. AS A RETIRED MILITARY MAN ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO GO INTO POLITICS AFTER RETIRED IN SUCH A APEX RANK? YOU ARE SO SELFISH AND UNGRATEFUL. JUST BECAUSE JONATHAN IS FROM THE SOUTH AND A NONE NORTHERN YOU ALL ARE ATTACKING HIM, YET YOU CLAIM WE ARE ONE NIGERIA.

It was my understanding that you were to be rewarded with the post of the Vice Presidency,unfortunately for you,your own brothers from the North kicked against your selection as the Vice President citing many cases against you including corruption and being married to 11 wives.For your information Mr.Governor.....the Adamawa State Government is still owing me 42,000.00 Naira.I did my National Youth Service in your state of Adamawa,I did my primary assignment in Government Secondary School Pare,Numan,where I thought your children Economics and Mathematics.I was even the Form Master of SS1 E Class.Your state government agreed to pay those of us doing our primary assignment in Secondary Schools the sum of 3,500.00 monthly.About some months into our service year your State Government had a meeting with us and told us in the meeting that for accounting purposes,they will prefer to pay us the lump sum of 42,000.00 on the day we finish our Youth Service year,behold after our Youth Service,your state government refused to pay us.That was 2000/2001,I know you were not the governor then,but I want to know what you have done about that because we created a lot of awareness about that and even got some human right lawyers to plead our case,so I am sure when you became the Governor,you must have heard of our problem.What did you or what have you done about that??.Most of us probably do not need the money anymore,but I am just telling you that the state you are presiding over is owing me and others 42,000.00 each and until you pay or apologize,SHUT UP.
