Another African tradition turned upside down by the western world.

In days gone by "uli was used to draw meaningful works of art on the body to enhance beauty (in those days - innocent, unadulterated beauty) and to show prowess.

Now its become a fashion statement and stolen from us. We see people tattooing the names of "loved ones" on their arms - and when this relationship breaks doown, they  are left with the name of the person on their arms!

Most people who went for this "artwork" when they were younger regret it now. As the skins ages the once "beautiful artwork" becomes a blob and hard to identify. 


Some people fail to get jobs because no  employer wants someone covered in graffiti working for them. Unless you spend the rest of your life in long sleeves.
