President Jonathan Sends Congratulatory To Nigeria’s History Making Golden Eagle

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets made history today by becoming the first country to win the  FIFA Under-17 World Cup for the fourth time when they beat Mexico, 3 – 0 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The first goal was an own goal scored by Mexico’s Eric Aguirre who scored against his won team in the 9th minute time, Kelechi Iheanacho scored the second goal in the second half & Musa Mohammed (Captain of the team) finished the game off with a free kick that went straight into the net!

A few moments ago Nigeria’s president Goodluck Jonathan sent the history making team a congratulatory via his Facebook account.

If only Nigeria as a nation can exhibit the same teamwork these youngests have to win.

Teamwork,  which simply implies working together to achieve a common goal,  is lacking in Nigeria politics.

The Eaglets are made up of different tribes and backgrounds. They do not even speak the same language but they have put all their differences aside and made the nation proud. The euling government can lesrn from this. Diversity does not mean division.

Well done boys.

My prayer is that your win spurs you onto greater things in the world of footbsll - jyst remember where it all started and that is in NIGERIA!
