BLACKOUT: Murtala Muhammed International Airport Experiences Power Outage Twice

Barely a day after a piece on the state of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport written by blogger, Japheth Omojuwa went viral yesterday, the airport is in the news again.

According to SaharaReporters, “Twice tonight the  entire Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos suffered massive power outages leading to disruptions in flight operations at the airport. The power outagest happened twice according to a journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who witnessed the blackout.”

    The first blackout which happened at 7:45pm lasted for two minutes. A second one, which is still ongoing, started at 8:06 PM.

     Salkida, who a passenger on a Dubai bound Emirates flight said the boarding is currently going on in complete darkness as the airliner deploys torchlight to assist customers to get on board
