A man identified as Kehinde Ayelehin allegedly smashed a 2-year-old baby to death during a fight with the baby's mother at Supare Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government area of Ondo state.
The suspect had attacked Oluwabunmi Faith as she was carrying her baby at the back and accused her of divulging information to the police which made them to raid his house at Alimaliu Igbose Camp.
According to report, Ayelehin hit the woman which resulted in a fight, he pulled down the baby and hit her on the ground. He tried to escape when he saw the baby had sustained severe injuries but a concerned neighbor, who saw them fighting called the police immediately and he was arrested.
The baby was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately, she died.
He described the action of the suspect as cruel and wicked, saying Ayelehin would be charged to court for murder adding that no man has the right to take another man’s life in whatever circumstances.
He warned the general public to avoid taking laws into their hands.
