A 60-year-old woman has been accused of forcing her daughter to drink salt water and eat a bar of soap as part of a torture routine during a 7-year abuse period.
The parent was said to have subjected her child who was at that time 5-years-old to regular physical and segxwal abuse which made the little girl run away from home.
The court also heard how the girl was also tortured with a hot light bulb, had her head banged against a wall so hard she vomited and was hit with a cast iron frying pan.
