Niger Flag Displayed Instead of Nigerian Flag during World Cup Opening Ceremony

A major faux pas occurred at the world cup opening ceremony, which took place yesterday. When Nigeria was called, Niger’s flag was displayed.

Some viewers commented on the incident via twitter:
The Nigeria Football Federation says it bears no grudge against FIFA or the 2014 World Cup Local Organising Committee for the error.

“If they called Nigeria and they raised Niger’s flag, it’s not a matter I can address from here. People that were there saw it and I know they will talk to FIFA about it. LOC and FIFA made an honest mistake.

I know they (FIFA and the 2014 World Cup LOC) will apologise for their mistakes and that should be the end of the matter,” said Musa Amadu, Secretary-General of the NFF.

Mistakes can be made  anywhere.

However it is painful that because both country's have a similar spelling we got mixed up!

It is also laughable that the green- white-green flag of the GIANT OF AGRICA is not recognised as belonging to NIGERIA.

This also shows us that FIFA has not got much faith that we will do well.

Well it is now up to the GREEN EAGLES to show the world the green-white'green flag belongs to NIGERIA by WINNING the 2014 WORLD CUP!

For the people calling nigeria zoo..una don crazy...no respect again abi...e nor matter whether the country bad but u still have to respect it....follow this example, Muslim bad but the people still respect their religion no mattet how bad it is...

Anyway, mistake can be make at anything time day or whatever. .but that doesn't mean they shouldn't beg for forgiveness tho ...the main case now is for nigeria to win bring the cup home...
