The Sudanese woman sentenced to death for Apostasy was released yesterday June 23rd after a Sudanese Supreme Court ordered her immediate release. A happy Meriam Ibrahim is seen in the picture flanked on her right by her husband, Daniel Wani, their 21month old son Martin who was in prison with her, their newly born daughter Maya and her legal team. Meriam is currently being kept in a secret place.

I am so delighted to hear that she has been released, but I don't think anyone will relax until she is safely in the USA! For now she is in danger even from her own family. Come on USA, do the right thing and let her travel within the next day or so with her husband and children to safety. When her own brother said that he'd kill her if the state doesn't, and we see daily 'honour' killings, then she isn't safe even now bless her.

Secondly in this case they can get her on her and her children on the next plane out of there and sort out the logistics afterwards. This isn't someone trying to fool the system this is a case of genuine and urgent need.
