Guinness World Records has certified 111-year-old Japanese as the oldest living man on Earth.

Guinness officials on Thursday said Sakari Momoi, a former teacher of agricultural chemistry, became the world’s oldest man following the death in June of a U.S. man of the same age.

Momoi said at a ceremony in the Tokyo hospital where he is receiving care, that he would like to live for two more years.

Momoi, born on Feb. 5, 1903, likes to eat fish and read books.

The world’s oldest living person recognised by Guinness World Records was 116-year-old Misao.
