It all depends on the sponsors...one thing about perfect economy is that you spend your money the way u like, especially in the direction that the resources are flowing. Im not in support of beauty over academic but that's the direction world is moving. Beauty models are richer than academians. blame the market for it. their is more market for showbiz than books...
But in the long run, the brilliant person (inventors) will still be the one solving problems and models will have to pay her for it
