Operatives at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, have begun investigation into the death of a 45-year-old woman whose lifeless body was at the early hours of yesterday found in a hotel room in Mushin area of the state.
The deceased, identified as Mrs Modinat Alabi, popularly known as Iya Biliki, was said to have checked into the hotel in the company of a man identified as Ladipo Hezekiah, Sunday night.

Preliminary investigation by policemen attached to Mushin division who were first contacted by management of the hotel showed that the deceased lived a building away from her 62-year-old male companion on the same street.
The late Modinat, as disclosed, lived at 4, Ereko Street, Fadeyi, while Ladipo, a father of three, occupied a two-room apartment at 6 of same street.
Police investigation further revealed that the deceased who lived with her husband and seven children, informed her family that she was going to NASFAT vigil that fateful day.
Confirming the incident, the command’s spokesman, Mr Frank Mba, said the scene had been visited by policemen from the station and that the corpse had been removed to the mortuary for autopsy.
