At the inaugural meeting of the APC women presidential campaign initiative held in Abuja today, Saturday January 24th, wife of the APC presidential flag-bearer, Mrs Aisha Buhari reacted to her husband’s promise to scrap the office of the first lady because it is unconstitutional and allegedly being used to steal public fund.
She said her husband will not tamper with the office of the First Lady, if it is constitutionally recognised, because he won’t do anything out of the constitution. She further went on to say, if it is not in the constitution and he intends to scrap it, then it is fine.
She however assured that, if her husband gets elected as the president next month, she will play her role as the first lady in a traditional way when she resumes office. Continue below...
“When my husband is elected as the president of this country, he will rule the country within the rule of law based on the constitution of the country.
“If the office of the first lady is constitutionally recognised, he will not tamper with it, but if it is not, that’s okay.
“For me, I will perform my duties and role as the wife of the President of Nigeria traditionally. Wives of presidents have some traditional roles, like receiving guests, visiting orphanages, helping the less privileged people.
“They also lead in the fight for the right of women and malnourished children, infant mortality rate, fight against kidnapping and girl-child trafficking.”
While inaugurating the initiative, Buhari urged the women to unite and cooperate with the men by mobilising women at all levels to ensure success at the February polls. She urged them to double their efforts in educating other women on how to cast their votes and at the same time be civil in their conducts

Did Buahri just married a new young wife?well, Madam, you and your Boko haram husband are going no where,your husband who has no respect for women,how do you think he will see you as the 1st lady if he becomes president but God forbid it, he won't be opportune to seat anywhere around the leadership of Nigeria again.

First of all she is not a new wife…she got married to Mr. Buhari in December 1989. ….Mr. Buhari divorced his first wife on about 1988 when he was released from detention. ….Yes she is beautiful indeed, looks young, radiant and a mother of five children
Back to the main issue: You are not getting the point. The office will be discarded if Buhari is elected. Abolishing the office of the first lady does not show disrespects for women….far from it. ….it is not constitutional. ….it is a waste of money and resources. .…it is only used to steal, loot, fill their pockets and distribute expired rice. ….it is nothing but crap. The ministry of women affairs and other related departments will take care of women issues more efficiently.
