Minister of Information, Mrs Patricia Akwashiki, has refuted the claim that President Goodluck Jonathan would dissolve his cabinet tomorrow.
She affirmed that the president was yet to make his position known on the matter.
The minister made the clarification during a familiarisation visit to the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) in Lagos.
Some sections of media had earlier reported that the president would dissolve the cabinet after a valedictory session scheduled to hold inside the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, Wednesday morning.
The report claimed that the Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting would be the last under the leadership of President Jonathan.
However, the information minister stated that there was no iota of truth in the report.
According to her, “I just want to seize this opportunity to say that I noticed in the Daily Trust of today (Tuesday) that it was said the minister confirmed that the executive council will be dissolved by tomorrow.
“At no time did I say anything like that.
“There was no reason for me to say anything like that, because all of us know that we are terminating together with the President on the 29th.
“At no time last week, did I say to anybody, especially, the Trust reporter that this government is terminating on the 20th.
“The government is terminating with Goodluck Jonathan on the 29th of May. That is actually the position,” she added.
