Twenty nine babies consisting 17 boys and 12 girls were delivered during the just concluded Holy Ghost Congress organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The success story was disclosed by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
According to the man of God, “as at 7.30 p.m. today (Saturday night), the total number of children given birth to in this year’s congress stood at 29—17 boys and 12 girls.”
A notorious robber was also overpowered by the ‘holy ghost’ during the programme.
Ikechukwu Idogwu, while testifying on the fourth day of service, said he was overpowered by the holy ghost when the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, who ministered on Divine Touch on the second day of the programme, was ministering.
Ikechukwu said he started stealing in 2002, when he stole his master’s money and used it for his first journey outside Nigeria, adding that he has been stealing from the boxes placed at strategic positions for members of the church to drop their offerings, pledges and covenant seeds.
He said he was caught once and handed over to the police at Ibafo. He was subsequently sent to serve a term in prison after the court found him guilty.
The born again robber, who said he had never gone out for altar calls in any ministration, said he realised he was no longer the same after Pastor Kumuyi’s ministration.
He said when Pastor Adeboye made the altar call, after his ministration entitled The Lord of Lords, that he received a divine touch which pulled him out, contrary to his expectation.
“Ever since, my life has not been the same,” he concluded.
At the time he was giving the testimony, he had a stolen handset with him, which he promised to return to the owner, explaining that the battery was low, so he needed to charge it to be able to know the owner.
Meanwhile, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Evangelical Ministry, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, has advocated good welfare packages for the Nigeria Police, military personnel and members of the judiciary.
Okonkwo gave this advice when he was leading a prayer for the police, military and the judiciary in this year’s Holy Ghost Congress.
The former president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), had earlier eulogised the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye, for the good work he is doing and the unity he has brought to the church.

Wait a minute, is Church not becoming a gangster now? You see all of them working together, and Prophet T. B. Joshua is getting ostracized. I think I believe Prophet T. B. Joshua to be a man of God, and even doubt the integrity of Pastor E. A. Adeboye's prophecy of "there is someone here today", which of course would be certain in a multitude of over 5 million people.
