Former Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Oliseh has been named the new coach of the Nigerian senior side he captained for years. Oliseh, who like the immediate past Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, is from Delta State, trained as a coach in Europe after his illustrious playing career turning out for sides like Ajax Amsterdan FC and Juventus. Oliseh’s analytic commentaries have made him popular among Nigerian football lovers while many remember his never say die attitude as a player. The Nigeria Football Federation made the confirmation this morning while also revealing that Oliseh will be assisted by a Dutch coach whose identity is yet to be revealed. The NFF has also promised to support the new coach in all capacity to ensure he succeeds in his new role. Oliseh is an integral part of Nigeria’s footballing glory being a core member of the team that won the Nations Cup in Tunisia in 1994 and the all-conquering Olympic Gold winning side at Atlanta 1996.

This proud Keshi should jump into Lagoon. I was never his fan and will never, because he lacks the technicalities of modern football.
