University of Ilorin has prevented 35 post-UTME candidates, mostly female from taking part in its screening examination over indecent dressing.

The candidates had assembled at the computer based test (CBT) centre at the permanent site of the University when officials in charge of the test turned them back on account of their dressing considered not decent enough.

It was learnt that the pleas by the candidates were turned down in line with the varsity’s zero tolerance for indecent dressing and other anti-social conducts.
The authorities of the University, had in an advertorial before the commencement of the test, set guidelines for prospective candidates, one of which compels candidates to dress decently to the examination venue.

With the development, the affected candidates may have automatically forfeited their chances of writing the crucial examination, which allows them admittance into the University.
When contacted, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs of the University, Mr. Kunle Akogun, said he was not aware of the development, but added that “it is possible”, because of the war against indecent dressing on the campus.

Dem never enter school, dem don dey dress indecent already. Wen dem cum enter na, wetin go cum happen? Good move by d sch. All schools shld do same. They shld train decent, responsible and focus leaders if some parents don't have time to do so. Wit d way thgs are going, schools need to impact morals in all level of education cus most parent don't have morals themselves.

what is "indecent dressing"?. if this case was taken to a court, how would the school defend itself ?  you either have a school uniform sworn by a tailor to your said standard or there would always be a flaw. so to me, the school stands to lose if this degenerates to a law suit.
