The UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon today arrived Nigeria for a two-day official visit.
He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 4.15p.m. and was received by Amb. Bulus Lolo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The UN Resident Coordinator, Daouda Toure, UNFPA Executive Director, Babatunde Oshotimehin and Special Representative of UN Secretary-General to Nigeria and West Africa, Ibn Chambas were among those who received Mr Ban Ki-Moon.
The Secretary-General was driven to Transcorp Hilton, where he is expected to hold talks with state governors under the aegis of Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF). Ban Ki-Moon’s dialogue with the governors is holding under the theme Pathways to a New Nigeria – the Role of Sub-national Governments. Tomorrow, he will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Aso Rock Villa.
Ban would later lay a wreath in memory of persons who died at the UN House bombing in 2011, as part of activities to mark the fourth anniversary of the incident. He will also have lunch with members of the business community under the theme The Role of Nigeria Business and the Economy in Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and Addressing Climate Change.

And as is usual, ALL the rubbuih and BEGGARS will have been CLEARED from the roads. Building will have been hastily "repainted." "Smartly" dressed police officers will be "on duty." Hand picked "special" children will dance a traditional dance at the airport. ALL "invited" special class guests will be "smiling" and sgreeing eith everything said - and POWERHOLDING will be under strict instructions to ensure "LET THERE BE LIGHT!"
