The transfer window in Europe ended last night with Nigerian players on the long list of players that moved from one club to the other.

But unlike their counterparts from other countries that landed it big, the boys Sunday Oliseh would be banking on to excel in his new Eagles job went for peanuts to their new clubs. Anthony Ujah who was called up for the game against Tanzania topped the money chat with 4.5m euro fee as he moves from FC Cologne to Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga.

Ike Uche who has since bidded bye to the Eagles, interestingly emerged the player that attracted the second highest fee as his new Mexican club, Tigress coughed out 3.5 million euro for his services. Joel Obi also invited for the game against Tanzania was the third on the money log as he moved from Inter to Torino for a paltry fee of 2.4 million euro. Junior international, Taiwo Awoniyi was snatched by Liverpool for a little over one million euro.

All the other “stars” including Victor Moses (Chelsea), Kenneth Omeruo (Chelsea), Juwon Oshaniwon (Ashdod) and Brown Ideye either went on loan or a fee that is out rightly too ridiculous to disclose. While Nigerian players got peanuts, Premier League clubs set a new record for gross transfer spending, with Chelsea, Man United, Man City and others lavishing over £862m on players. Wen u bribe ur way thru corrupt NFF to greedy agents then dats wat u get. Real stars of dis country don't have opportunity to be sponsored. In abraod they look for eall talents and make them stars but here in my corrupt nigeria, money for hand back for ground. Too bad
