As a result of this, he wants the court to dissolve his seven-year old marriage to his wife because he could no longer bear the torture.
He also alleged that the experience had affected his business.
“Whenever I have sex with my wife, I will be thoroughly beaten in the dream. My business has suffered a setback as a result of this because nobody was willing to give me any contract,” he stated.
Osunbode, a building contractor, told the court presided by Mr. Eko that this led to frequent fighting between him and his wife because he tried to make her confess.
He told the court that he no longer loved the woman as he was afraid of making love to her because of the sad experience.
He said the marriage produced three children, Karimot, 5, Fatai, three and seven-month old Ganiyu.
In her statement, Bilikisu, 27 who is the the petitioner, accused him of always accusing her wrongly.
She confirmed that they engaged in frequent fighting at their residence at 2, Ijeododo Road, Ijegun, Lagos because her husband was fond of beating her under false pretences.
She admitted that her husband once confronted her with the allegation that he was always beaten in the dream whenever he had sex with her, adding that she knew nothing about it.
She described it as an excuse to sleep with another woman outside his matrimonial home.
Bilikisu asked the court to dissolve the marriage because her husband was threatening her life and does not take care of her and the children.
The court advised the parties to pray on the problems facing them and advised them to maintain the current peace.
The matter has been adjourned till 2 March, 2010.
