The burial of Chief Mrs H.I.D Awolowo who died in her sleep on Saturday September 19, 2015 a few weeks to her 100th birthday has been fixed for November 25, 2015, the day she would have clocked 100 years. The eldest daughter of the deceased, Rev. Omotola Oyediran, made the announcement on Wednesday September 23, 2015. She was born on November 25, 1915 to a modest family in the small Ikenne community of Ogun State, Nigeria. Late HID Awolowo is the widow of politician Obafemi Awolowo, who famously referred to her as his ‘jewel of inestimable value’. She’s a successful businesswoman, astute politician and she was the First Lady of the old Western Region....
