Nyesom Wike, winner of the previously held gubernatorial election in Rivers State, Nigeria, has been sacked from the governor’s office. He isn’t Rivers State Governor anymore.


This revelation came to light as ongoing investigation into the past election held in the state produced evidence which implies shady electoral process in the past elections.

Chief Dakuku Peterside, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the last governorship election in Rivers state, dragged the Peoples Democratic Party‎ (PDP) before the tribunal to challenge the election of Governor Nyesom Wike of the PDP, who was declared winner of the election by the electoral body.

The tribunal made the call for the over-haul of the previous election that declared Wike the winner and called for new elections to take place in Rivers State.

And as always, there are supporters and opposers. This tweet banter clearly indicates that while some agree with the decision of INEC to re-conduct the elections to ensure its free and fair this time, others are still confident Nyesom Wike will win flawlessly again. And there are those who have attacked the Lagos State Governor,

Justice has been murdered. I cry for my country. I expected Buhari to protect our democracy but he cannot sustain the consistency of the irregularities that made him a president to spouse through the other people.
