Is God Imaginary?

A thousand years ago, from the perspective of someone on a rotating planet tilted at 23.5 degrees which orbited around the sun, the motions of the other planets seemed so complex that only a god could account for them.  When we learned that the earth and the other planets all orbited the sun, we realized that their orbits were quite simple.  No god was needed to account for them.  Time and time again, the "evidence" for god has been shown to be nothing more than human ignorance.  But just because humans are ignorant, and just because there is no evidence of God, that doesn't mean that God does not exist.
