7 boats carrying 850 illegal migrants were intercepted off Sabratha coast, west of the capital Tripoli, on Sunday, May 22, Libyan Coast Guards has said. A spokesman said the migrants, of various African nationalities, were found on inflatable boats north of Sabratha at 7:30 am while they were on their way to Europe.
79 women, 11 of them are pregnant, and 11 children were among the migrants. They were later transferred to the Illegal Immigration Fight Authority in Zawia.
More than 30,000 migrants have already crossed from Libya to Italy this year. It comes as the UN's first World Humanitarian Summit is due to open in Istanbul. Heads of states, aid agencies and others will discuss the financial response to crises and how better to distribute aid to those who most need it.
Libya has become a major hub for migrants as people traffickers exploit lawlessness in the country.
Libya has warned that it does not have the resources to control the flow of people heading to Europe and has accused the EU of failing to deliver on promises of help.

Na Wetin sef. Dis pple are they not listening to news or watching television to see wat happen to pple who risk their life to travel always??? Most of them die on sea, dome drown and some lost in d sea. Na wa o African leaders it's a pity we don't have good ones who will have d citizens at heart. They all want to come and loot and power tissue. Some even want to remain there to be seen like demi god.

See waiting happen last time my younger brother girl friend senoir brother wey dey do well for naija take the risk and die in the sea, now europe e nor reach he business for naija go to another person as that guy be dey naija goood for am because him get business wey him dey pay workers but decide to come europe by land and he dead in the sea, here begging na lucrative business, people dey fight for space to beg here in Italy

Subject: Europe Is Not The Only Solution.
With sad heart after I read the news of today and i decide to let people know that Europe is not the only place greener pasture can be found, I am in Europe and i know why i said this because people risk their life through the land and sea to get here while many die alone the way. Many guys here beg to feed, I mean as banbi ala just as we call them in Nigeria (Begger), They stay in traffic, supermarket, even streets they beg whoever is coming or going, There is no work here and many are regreting why they came here in the first place but it's already late as they cannot go back to Nigeria empty handed because many sold one thing or other things to come here, this europe is like secret cult, you don't know what you are getting into till you get in and it's when you get inside you get to know how the game goes then it's too late to get out,(As we do say in Naija) You done already enter and you nor fit come out.) My brothers and sisters stop taking this risk, Europe don't worth it.
