Your article seems to attack christianity in Nigeria and you appear to forget that Moslems make up to 40% of the nation and they pray a minimum of 5 times per day.  You also forgot other religions in Nigeria.  There is still traditional religions and they pray daily as well.  We should pray and continue to pray.  We have not been getting what we want via prayer because we do not know how to ask for what we need in our prayers.  We do not wrestle against flesh but against principalities in high places, powers of darkness, etc.  We may want to ask God to send us good leaders.  It is God's instructions that we pray for our leaders and we should continue to pray for our leaders.  Your urge for us to stop praying for our leaders is a sign of anti-God movement.

Faith without works is dead, but it was never referred to prayer.  We are urged to pray without ceasing and that we shall do.  The devil is the only spirit that does not want prayers.  God is a spirit, we are spirit beings.  Prayers when uttered correctly can move mountains and cast into the sea.

I refuse to listen to anti-prayer demons.

Nice one @Omatu. Smiley

Thanks.
Amen & Amen.
Remain blessed.
God bless Nigeria.

Answers are as listed below:

1.) When the red sea parted, did Moses pack the water with some container?
2.) When manna fell from heaven, did Moses put the food in the cloud?

Show me a science or hard-work that could part the sea, show me how much hard-work you can do to make food fall from heaven. Tell me how come Peter caught so much fish that his net broke, just few minute from the time no fish was seen in the part of the sea.

Explain why all hard-working doctors of this world couldn't make a woman stop bleeding, and just a touch of Jesus' garment did the wonder.

I guess you've not really seen how prayer works, then you'll know if God watches not over the city, the night guards watch in vain.

Well said, thank you.
Amen.
Remain blessed.
God bless Nigeria.

Very good and well written article. I commended the writers observation and his collective efforts in putting it together. Prayer is good but not an answer to Nigeria's numerous problems. Nigeria's problems are the leaders. The only answer to our problem is to follow Ghana's footsteps, eliminate all the bad leaders and replace them with young, educated, people that have positive dreams for our nation and the future generations to come. The future of Nigeria depend on how is operated today. Only prayer will never produce any result if actions does not follow. It is unfortunate that the leaders can not see or listen to what the other nations are saying about Nigeria and its people. Every year Nigeria's name comes first from the back in the eyes of the world; in other words, Nigeria takes two steps forward and eight steps backward because most people rely on the power of prayer rather than the power of the people to change the situation in our country.

Prayers are not the problems.  We must pray without ceasing.

Is the writer of this article a Naigerian? I doubt. this are pple' who are trying to instigate tention and voilence btn pple' of Naigeria and their goverment. If pple' turn to God for prayers for God to  help their leaders whatz wrong with that? and if the writer is a Naigerian he/she must be foolish enough to realize that turning  away from God for earthly richness and greed will cause more and worse conditions to the pple' whom you have already portrayed as sufferes. what can a leader provide more than God can?

Your suggestions for things that we could pray for is a very good idea.
I pray that your desires become fulfilled.  We do need to pray for security, politics, sociability, etc., concerning our nation.

The only person that I know that hates prayers is satan and his demons.
We must obey God to pray without ceasing.
There is nothing wrong with us praying for our leaders.  We should actually vote for prayerful leaders.

God is not a liar.  God is not human that He should lie.  He says pray without ceasing, and that we shall do.  Man's opinion does not count when it comes to God's instructions to us.

There is big difference between praying and being productive lazy.  When you pray, you are communicating with God.  The writer believes that God has already answered our prays, therefore, we should stop praying.  This is contrary to God's commandments.  If he believes that God has answered prayers to his own satisfaction, should he not be advising us to spend most of our prayer times giving thanksgiving go God?

Mixing prayer with productive laziness is not a very good idea.  He could have set a topic that talks about how to motivate Nigerians to be more productive, but to attack prayer and people's prayer life, he has gone too far because he has attacked God and his commandments to us.

How about looking into how we can give incentives to small and medium size business owners to become successful so they can hire more people?  How about promoting entrepreneurship to graduates that are unemployed?

How about looking into how we can improve our economy?  How about looking into how we can improve our healthcare?  How about looking into how we can stamp out corruptions?  Etc., Etc, Etc.

How in the world does he connect our communications with God through prayers to be our problems?

This is anti God.  This is anti prayer.  God is a Spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.  How in the world are matters pertaining to God the Spirit being quenched and controlled in order to achieve something that is in the physical?  That is an impossible feat and cannot happen.  God is the author and finisher of our faith.  Without God, Christian believers cannot survive.  Without prayers, Christian believers cannot survive.  Prayers to a Christian is that ever flowing water, ever flowing connection that we have with God.  Prayers give peace of mind so that one can become more productive.

Why is the writer not attacking occultism and its damage to the Nigerian community?  Why attack God and promote satan?  The devil is the one that does not like prayers.
