A49-year old man, Pius Ezeamaka has been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly defiling his three-year old daughter (names withheld).
Pius was alleged to have inserted his finger into the private part of the little girl and in the process injured her.
The incident occurred at his house on 1, Meye Ezeamaka Crescent, Ago Palace Way, Okota, Isolo, Lagos when his wife travelled to their hometown in Agbor, Delta State for medical treatment.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the dastard act was discovered by his wife’s sister who contacted the police.
He was arrested and charged before the Isolo Magistrate’s Court for defilement.
The charge reads: “ That you, Pius Ezeamaka, 49 at the same date, place and time did unlawfully and indecently deal with the victim, by inserting your finger into her private part which caused her pain and itches.”
The offence is punishable under Section 222 of the Criminal Code, Cap.38, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and the magistrate, Mr. W.A.O. Meigbope granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.
The magistrate directed that the sureties must show evidence of tax payment and means of livelihood.
The matter has been adjourned till 15 March, 2010 for mentioning.
