Veteran Nollywood Actor And Former Broadcaster, Sadiq Daba Diagnosed With Leukemia

Sadiq Daba, who is popular for his role in "Cockrow at Dawn" has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Writing on his Facebook page, veteran filmmaker Sonny McDonald said,

"Dear colleagues and friends in Nollywood, especially some of us that date back to NTA Days, please put a call to  Uncle  Sadiq Daba.
"He needs your voice of strength please... 08024343157."
When a follower asked what was wrong with Daba, McDonald said "he is diagnosed with Leukemia."
Daba took to Facebook to thank everyone who has sympathized with him. He also revealed that he is responding to treatment.

"I am not dead nor dying I!! God has been and will Always be faithful to me and my plight, because that is my covenant with Him !!!!
"My doctors have been wonderful and I am responding to treatment. .....my love and thanks to all those who have called to sympathize and empathize with me.....God bless you,"
he wrote.
A news anchor, reporter, actor and editor, Sadiq has worked at  RKTV, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) (formerly known as NTV) Sokoto, NTPC Lagos and NTA Lagos.
His role as Bitrus in the 1970s drama “Cockcrow at Dawn” brought his acting career into the limelight.

In 2015, he won Best Actor for his role as  in "October 1" at the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA). In 2016, Sadiq Daba received the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the growth of the Nigerian film industry.
The renowned veteran is also popular for films and soap operas including: "Behind the Clouds", "A Place like Home", "Soweto", and "Moment of Truth". We wish the actor a quick recovery.
